It’s almost New Year’s Eve so ’tis the season for fake promoters to promise celebrities at their parties. Lindsay Lohan has spoken out saying that she will not be partying it up in Dubai for the New Year as a party planning company has been claiming, and now she’s threatening to sue.

Sources connected to Lohan tell us … the actress was PISSED when she learned her name is being used to promote a massive NYE bash on the Queen Elizabeth 2 cruise ship in Dubai … because it’s simply not true.

We’re told Lindsay’s legal team is pounding out a cease and desist letter — claiming she’s prepared to sue the pants off the party people if they continue to lie about Lohan’s NYE plans.

Lohan’s rep, Steve Honig, tells TMZ … “Lindsay is not going to Dubai, nor had she ever considered doing so. She will be spending New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles with a few close friends and family.”

So what do the promoters have to say about all of this? The were called for a response to Lindsay’s threat of legal action but had no comment.

Lindsay Lohan’s nude photo shoot for Playboy Magazine is helping Hugh Hefner‘s magazine break sales records.

Lohan was reportedly paid $1 million to pose nude for the photos, which were taken reminiscent of the style Marilyn Monroe posed in during the debut issue of Playboy in 1953.

It’s been reported that Marilyn Monroe was only paid $50 for the 1949 photo shoot.

“The Lindsay Lohan January-February Double Issue is breaking sales records,” Hefner said in a message posted on his Twitter account Sunday.

A Playboy spokesman would not give sales numbers, but the official did say it was selling “very well.”

The Playboy gig was a rare moneymaking opportunity for Lohan, whose acting career has been hampered in the past two years by frequent trips to court, probation restrictions, extended drug rehab stints and several visits to jail.

To be honest, I’m a little surprised it sold so well. Even after the pictures leaked online, I’m surprised people went out and bought the issue. Is it because people think she’s going to have the same fate as Marilyn?

Lindsay Lohan landed herself a real-life-paying job! Jag Jeans paid the troubled star (or “style icon” if you believe their press release) to model their clothes. Check out their press release. It’s precious.

The Jag Jeans crew traveled to Los Angeles to shoot the style icon at the landmark SLS Boutique Hotel in Beverly Hills. Led by world-renowned photographer YuTsai, who has spearheaded photo shoots for such international celebrity beauties as Anne Hathaway, Mila Kunis, Rihanna and Janet Jackson, it was clear that the spread for Jag Jeans was going to be once again artistic and edgy.

And Lindsay did not disappoint.

Like a woman who knows what she wants, Lindsay worked closely with Jag’s stylist Maya Krispin, who has styled Tinseltown’s biggest names like Katy Perry, Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, to personally select her wardrobe for every spread.

Lindsay was so involved with the shoot that she would go as far as adjusting items on the set. She even requested scissors so she could personally fray the edges of her black crepe blouse because she believed it would look better that way. Lindsay would take a hands-on approach to her shots, as she was more than willing to change her hairstyle during mid-shoot and even used her own personal jewelry and accessories when needed.

Lindsay was impressed by Jag’s Push Up Skinny Jeans and Flared Jeans, and even asked if she could keep a peach top and the denim shorts she used during the shoot.

With Lindsay’s appeal, lensman YuTsai’s intricate eye for detail, stylist Maya’s heightened fashion sense and the Philippe Starck-designed SLS hotel as its canvas, the shoot stamped Jag Jeans mark as an international brand to be reckoned with.

That was hilarious. She was “so involved with the shoot that she would go as far as adjusting items on the set”?! Love it.

When Lindsay Lohan decided to shoot a spread for Playboy magazine, the 25-year-old actress was asked to go full-frontal-nudity. According to E! News, Lindsay’s team wouldn’t allow her to show the full monty.

“I think it was essentially mama [Dina] and the folks around her that kept pushing for less nudity,” Hugh Hefner told E! News of rumors that he convinced Lohan to go fully naked.

And I said, ‘We’re doing a nude pictorial here. We’re going to do it in a very classy way and we’re going to do it in a way in which it will not be forgotten.’”

And indeed it wasn’t. In a tribute to her idol Marilyn Monroe’s iconic Playboy pics, the blonde-again star posed against a red velvet background with bright-red lipstick and a sexy pair of pumps. “The pictorial and the concept…came from me,” Hefner said.

Still, even Hefner himself initially worried about featuring the erratic star, famously plagued by legal problems as well as drug and alcohol struggles.

“It really came as a surprise to me,” he said. “I kind of had mixed emotions about it initially. . . I wasn’t quite sure where she was at in her life, obviously. It depends on whether it’s Tuesday or Thursday.”

I thought the pictures looked surprisingly good. Lindsay looked decent in the pictures. I think she made the right move by not going full-frontal. It wouldn’t have looked as classy (?) had she shown more of her bits.

Lindsay Lohan claims she didn’t do Playboy for the attention. (We know, it was for the money!)

Anyhoo, the 25-year-old “actress” tells Playboy ”Sex and sexuality are a part of nature, and I go along with nature,” the “Mean Girls” star says of her in-the-buff photos, which are an homage to the late Monroe’s own iconic Playboy spread. “Knowing yourself and your body is so important because it gives you confidence, and in life, women need confidence.”

In the leaked pics, Lohan wears just a pair of a shoes, with her blonde locks in retro-style waves and with her lips a bright shade of vampy red.

“It’s a very male-dominated world to begin with, so knowing yourself and being comfortable with your body is an important thing for me as a woman. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this is mine.”

The former Disney cutiepie, of course, hasn’t had the most confidence-building several years, as her movie roles dried up and she ran into frequent troubles with the law over her partying, her drug and alcohol abuse, a related DUI, subsequent probation violations, even the theft of an expensive necklace.

But, looking forward, she says she’s learned from those transgressions. “Ultimately we are each responsible for ourselves and for our actions,” says the star, who has dodged long-term jail sentences more than once. “Looking back, I probably would have listened to and taken more advice from the people whom I admire and would have followed through with it more.”

How did the real trouble begin? Muses Lohan: “My stubbornness at 18 and 19 years old got in the way. During the past five years, I’ve learned that time flies faster than you think, and because you only live once you have to learn from your mistakes, live your dreams and be accountable.”

According to TMZ, she killed it during her probation hearing. Maybe 2012 is looking up for Lindsay?

Lindsay appeared in court today for her probation progress report. A very surprised Judge Stephanie Sautner began by saying, “Miss Lohan, you have actually done your work.”

The judge noted Lindsay actually completed her 12 days of community service early. And she went to an extra therapy session — 5 instead of the required 4. The judge also said the morgue was pleased by the work Lindsay has done there “at least as pleased as a morgue can be.”

Judge Sautner said there was some confusion over whether Lindsay was allowed to go to Hawaii last week, but ultimately the Judge said it was ok, because she was celebrating her sister’s birthday and she was allowed to go out of state for family events.

Lindsay is due back in court next month, but so far, so good.

Lindsay Lohan has been on vacation in Hawaii over the last week or so. While in Hawaii, her Playboy spread leaked and she was robbed of $10,000. She was supposed to fly back into town yesterday in time for a taping of The Ellen Degeneres Show, but apparently she missed her flight and in turn missed her scheduled appearance.

Alec Baldwin isn’t the only one having travel issues these days. Lindsay Lohan, who was scheduled to return from her hit-and-miss Hawaiian vacation today, missed her flight back to Los Angeles that would have had her back in town in time for a scheduled taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

But more importantly, Lohan’s due in court bright and early tomorrow. She doesn’t need a passport to get back to the mainland, so what can the problem be—and will it keep her from her date with Judge Stephanie Sautner?!

“Lindsay had a travel-related issue arise that took a few hours to sort out,” rep Steve Honig tells E! News. “It has been resolved and she will be back in Los Angeles in time for her court appearance.”

A source also tells us that Lohan, after missing a morning flight, is booked on an afternoon flight and hopes to be back late Tuesday.

The community-servicing actress is due in court Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. for another checkup as to how she’s been handling the terms of her probation.

Sautner ordered her to complete at least 12 days of work at the L.A. County morgue by her hearing date—and Lohan’s done that, so we’re not expecting too much tap-dancing on the part of Playboy’s latest cover girl.

While some outlets report that Lindsay canceled her appearance (could it be because her Playboy spread leaked early?), but her rep is insisting she simply missed her flight. Her rep tells Gossip Cop, “Lindsay offered to tape ‘Ellen’ tomorrow, but the show was unable to shift things around, and tomorrow is their last day of taping for the season.” But an insider at Ellen tells GC, “Not a call or an apology from Lindsay.”

And today – Lindsay is going to go before Judge Stephanie Sautner for a progress report. She’s been on probation for stealing a necklace at an L.A. jewelry store.

TMZ is reporting that Lindsay has done AMAZING this time around, going above and beyond to please the judge.

Lindsay Lohan will experience something new in court this AM … a friendly judge who heaps praise on her, and it’s all because her lawyer figured out something that was lacking in her life.

Lindsay will appear before Judge Stephanie Sautner at 10 AM PT for a progress report.  She’s on probation for pilfering a necklace at an L.A. jewelry store.

Judge Sautner tried something new … rather than just telling Lindsay to complete her community service in a year — or else — the judge created a very specific schedule, putting in a certain number of hours each month.  And Lindsay has not only complied, she’s gone beyond the minimum.  Sources tell us … Lindsay logged the requisite number of hours of community service and morgue duty, and she’s actually put in more therapy time than required.

And sources tell us … her supervisor at the morgue is blown away, calling her work “stellar,” and saying she’s “a delight to work with and hard working.”

The reason for Lindsay’s turnaround — her lawyer, Shawn Holley, who went to the judge before Lindsay’s sentencing and argued that her client needed a rigid structure — something her own parents never provided.
