Lily Allen has announced via her Myspace blog that she intends on releasing her new album in February of next year. She does plan to give us a taste beforehand in the form of viral videos:
My new album will be released on the 9th of Feb 2009. I know it’s a while away, but there will be bits and bobs flying around before then, I’m shooting a video(for viral release) in the next couple of weeks , to keep you entertained .
I am so excited, were getting all the artwork and stuff done and coming up with new and interesting ideas. I am trying really hard to do this album with integrity and I want you all to know that it has been thought about by me, not just some thrown together last minute industry bullshizz.
I hope you’ll all love it as much as I do, I’m working on extra stuff in the studio at the moment , it seems making an album isn’t enough these days, some websites (not naming any!) wont put an album on their front page unless you give them exclusive tracks, not that i’m complaining, I am at my happiest in the studio so it works well for me, I just don’t want to put out sub standard stuff . I always thought an album was a body of work in itself. you take it or leave it . You wouldn’t say to a painter “yeah i love the naked ladies ,but would you mind painting their hair blonde instead of brown, and making their tits a bit bigger?” or ” the trees are really pretty, a few more leaves perhaps?” Maybe you would actually , ha ha .
Anyway whatevs.

Lily Allen was joking when she recently announced her brother Alfie’s engagement – the singer only made the comments to “wind up” her sibling.
Allen sparked a press frenzy at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London last Tuesday when she welcomed Alfie’s girlfriend Jaime Winstone on stage, introducing the actress as her “soon-to-be-sister-in-law”.
But Allen now admits her brother is not engaged to the star, daughter of famed actor Ray Winstone.
She writes on her MySpace.com internet page, “Alfie and Jaime had never been engaged, Jaime and I are the best of friends and I was just winding Alfie up, he’s my little brother and that’s what siblings do. Jaime wasn’t p**sed off with me, if she was I would have known about it, believe me.”

Lily Allen has taken to her MySpace blog to talk about the fuss between her and Elton John at the GQ Men of the Year Awards on September 2nd. She says that the two of them were joking and there are no hard feelings. She’s also not apologizing for her drunkeness.
Check it out:
Hi
Hi , now it’s all died down i’m saying my side of what I can’t believe is considered to be a story.
Elton john and I are friends. I was honoured when Elton asked me to present the GQ awards with him this year in association with Elton’s AIDS foundation. Not only was it for a good cause but who would say no to Elton.
I’m not defending my drunkeness because i don’t need to, i’m 23 it was an awards ceremony i drank the free champagne, how awful of me.
Trying to create a feud on the other hand, and trying to make me out as being some rude little girl with a drink problem is just unfair, Elton and I exchanged jokes and there were no hard feelings at all, infact neither of us gave it a second thought. It’s sad that an evening enjoyed by all had to ruined by some bitter journos again.
Alfie and Jamie had never been engaged, Jamie and I are the best of friends and I was just winding Alfie up , he’s my little brother and that’s what siblings do. Jamie wasn’t pissed off with me, if she was i would have known about it, believe me.
This isn’t meant to be a place for me to respond to journalists, but I am very grateful I have this page, if i didn’t then i would have absolutely no voice when it comes to this stuff.
All these showbiz journalists are just bullies when it comes down to it. I have felt really very bullied this week.I realise that when i first started this job I slagged a few people off when I probably shouldn’t have and I have been opinionated about some things, but i haven’t said a bad word about anyone for a long time, even when I have wanted to, even when people have tried to start feuds and said horrible things about me when they’d never even met me, when they’d based an opinion on me because of something they’d read. It’s hurtful, but it’s fine if you want to print a picture of me and say how awful I look, how much weight i’ve put on or how terrible my choice of clothes were that day. In my opinion it’s still a form of bullying and if anyone spoke to any of my friends like that to their faces i’d want to kill them. But character assasination is another thing it’s just not needed.I turned up and presented an awards ceremony for charity, i drank some champagne and went home for 12.30 and again I’ve been made to feel like a bad friend and an embarassment to my fans and the people who support me. I shouldn’t have to defend myself when i’ve done nothing wrong.
And by the way, to all the photographers waiting outside my house. I won’t be leaving for a while, all my friends have gone to Bestival and i’ve got enough food and fags to last me till wednesday, so you might as well f**k off and find somebody else to make miserable.
And there you have it!

Lily Allen prefers to record in Los Angeles because she hates making her producer leave his family for England – and there are less distractions for her in Tinseltown.
The Smile singer recorded most of her new album – Stuck on the Naughty Step – during her most recent trip to Hollywood and admits she got a lot more done than she would have in her native London. And her producer got to spend time with his family.
She says, “I feel guilty bringing my producer Greg to England, away from his wife… The last trip (he made) wasn’t very productive. I’ve never been good at working in London – too many distractions. (There are) too many people to go out and have lunch with.”
But it wasn’t all work when Allen hit L.A. for work earlier this year – she saw a few movies and checked out Lil’ Wayne at the House of Blues. And for a few nights she stayed in the Chateau Marmont hotel suite where actor John Belushi died.
She quickly downgraded, however, because, “I couldn’t afford it!”
