Kate Winslet was in the awkward position of shooting a sex scene with her Titantic lover Leonardo DiCaprio in the upcoming film Revolutionary Road – directed by her husband, Sam Mendes.
“I just kept saying, ‘This is too… weird,’” the actress, 32, told Entertainment Weekly. “And Leo was like, ‘Oh, get over it.’ And I’m going, ‘Yeah, a little reminder: You’re my best friend. He’s my husband. This is a bit weird.’”
But Winslet was pleasantly surprised by the result.
“I hadn’t realized how much my chemistry with him since Titanic would still stick,” she said. “It’s great to discover we can just slip right into it, like muscle memory.”
For his part, Mendes – her husband since 2003 – told the magazine: “I will admit it was quite bizarre to direct my wife in how to make love. But it’s difficult whether you’re married to a person or not.”
Winslet and DiCaprio, 33 – who starred in Titanic in 1997 – play a suburban couple in the film, based on Richard Yates’ 1961 novel.
“We knew that if we were going to do something again, it had to be something big and emotional,” Winslet said of reuniting with DiCaprio, which she arranged. “I played this very clever cat-and-mouse game to get my husband and then my best friend involved.”

Leonardo DiCaprio is reportedly in talks to play Russian revolutionary Vladimir Lenin in a new movie.
The Titanic star is said to be in negotiations to take on the leading role in forthcoming film Lenin’s Brain, according to British newspaper The Sun.
The picture will be directed by Russian moviemaker Alexander Der Borodyansky, who insists the actor is perfect for the part because of his striking physical resemblance to the communist politician, who died in 1924.

Time is on Leonardo DiCaprio’s side when it comes to environmentalism.
The Oscar-nominated star has teamed up with watchmakers Jaeger-LeCoultre to form the “Time to Care” program to benefit the actor’s environmental organization, the Leonardo DiCaprio Fund at the Califonria Community Foundation, the Swiss company has announced.
Jaeger-LeCoultre will fashion two limited edition watches this fall, the proceeds of which will go towards Leo’s Fund.
An avid environmentalist, this is just the latest project in Leo’s very green life. He drives a hybrid car, lives in a solar paneled home and has lobbied for access to clean water. Last year, the 33-year-old produced and narrated 11th Hour, a global warming documentary.
“We all have to do our part to raise awareness about global warming and the problems we as a people face in promoting a sustainable environmental future for our planet,” he has said.

Leonardo DiCaprio has settled a court battle over the construction of a basketball court at his Hollywood home.
The Titanic star and his cousin Robert Hrtica, from whom DiCaprio rents the Hollywood Hills home, were sued by neighbors Ronald and Joan Linclau last May for allegedly causing damage to their property.
The Linclaus alleged DiCaprio “maliciously” cut and removed hedges; excavated “earth, granite and bedrock”, destabilizing their deck and swimming pool; and ignored their repeated requests to halt the 2004 construction.
They attempted to sue for trespass, nuisance and negligence and sought $250,000 in compensation.
But the legal dispute has now been solved according to a notice of settlement filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday.
No further details of the settlement were available as WENN went to press.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s model girlfriend Bar Refaeli is desperate for children – and hopes to raise them in her native Israel.
The 22-year-old supermodel wants “at least three” children and would like them to experience a similar childhood to her own, reports the New York Daily News.
She says, “I had a very beautiful childhood and I hope that my kids will be able to experience the same thing.”
But DiCaprio – who is currently filming a Martin Scorsese movie – was unable to comment on his girlfriend’s wish. A spokesman for the star says, “I can’t get him off the set to ask him.”
