Leonardo DiCaprio’s construction of a personal basketball court may wind up in another kind of court.
The actor’s Los Angeles neighbors, Ronald and Joan Linclau, filed a lawsuit Thursday alleging that DiCaprio’s backyard renovation for the recreation area has caused damage to their uphill property since July 2004.
DiCaprio “maliciously” crossed onto the couple’s property, cutting and removing hedges, excavating “earth, granite and bedrock,” which has destabilized their deck and pool, the Superior Court suit alleges.
The neighbors assert that damages exceed $250,000. They also say DiCaprio ignored their repeated demands to stop construction.
A rep for the actor was not immediately available for comment.

Leonardo DiCaprio may find himself playing ‘kiss and make up’ with girlfriend Bar Refaeli, after a night on the tiles with James Blunt’s ex-girlfriend.
DiCaprio and model Petra Nemcova were spotted out together until 2.30am over the weekend, it was reported.
Rafaeli was nowhere to be seen as Leonardo and Petra celebrated his new movie ‘Gardener of Eden’ at the Marquee nightclub together.
A witness told the New York Daily News: ‘He looked like he was all over her.’
‘They were together before 12.30am to around 2.30. He was holding her waist and touching her arm.’
Also out partying with the Blood Diamond star was Tennis star Andy Roddick and rap mogul Diddy.

Leonardo DiCaprio is a regular at Hugh Hefner’s infamous Playboy mansion parties, but prefers to attend in disguise. Hefner revealed DiCaprio causes the most excitement when he parties at the Homby Hills mansion in Los Angeles, but says the actor does not like to draw attention to himself.
He says, “Certainly in the 70s Warren Beatty was having a very good time here. He and Jack (Nicholson) were regulars. More recently, I suppose, Leonardo DiCaprio, though he comes to the Halloween parties with his buddies but in disguise.
“Last time they came as monkeys. And there were about six of them and you couldn’t tell who was who.”

Leonardo DiCaprio will star in the Ridley Scott-directed adaptation of the new David Ignatius novel, Body of Lies. The movie will reunite DiCaprio with screenwriter William Monahan, who also penned The Departed. The story is about an ex-journalist-turned CIA agent (DiCaprio) who’s sent to Amman to work with Jordan’s intelligence chief to track an Al Qaeda leader rumored to be planning attacks against America. This will be the third Middle East-set project Monahan has scripted for Scott, following Kingdom of Heaven and Tripoli, which hasn’t yet been made. DiCaprio is set to begin shooting Lies in the fall, after wrapping Revolutionary Road, the Sam Mendes-directed DreamWorks drama that reunites him with Titanic star Kate Winslet. DiCaprio and Monahan are also working together on the remake of the Hong Kong thriller Confessions of Pain for Warner Bros. Pictures.

Leonardo DiCaprio will star in the Martin Scorsese-directed The Wolf of Wall Street for Warner Bros. Pictures, with The Sopranos writer Terence Winter penning the script. The project is an adaptation of Jordan Belfort’s upcoming autobiography, which tells the story of how the Long Island stockbroker, to be played by DiCaprio, served 20 months in prison for refusing to cooperate in a 1990s securities fraud case that involved widespread corruption on Wall Street and in the corporate banking world, including mob infiltration. The book publishes in September. The movie deal closed on Friday (March 23) after a brief bidding war between Warner and DiCaprio’s Appian Way production company and Paramount and Brad Pitt’s Plan B. It is not yet known when Scorsese is scheduled to begin work on Wolf. He currently is developing, and may direct, The Long Play, a rock ‘n’ roll epic to be penned by Departed writer William Monahan, as well as an adaptation of Eric Jager’s book Last Duel: A True Story of Crime, and is said to be eyeing an adaptation of Brian Selznick’s children’s novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret. DiCaprio just signed on to star alongside Kate Winslet in an adaptation of Richard Yates’ Revolutionary Road.
