“Gossip Girl” is on top of the wave at 2009 Teen Choice Awards. The CW series, which is the biggest nominee with 10 nods, is among the early winners of the event, taking home the Drama categories for Choice TV Actor, Choice TV Actress and Choice TV Show.
Chace Crawford beats co-star Penn Badgley in winning the actor category, while Leighton Meester triumphs over Blake Lively in the actress category. The series itself claims its prize after edging out heavy contenders such as “Grey’s Anatomy” and “House M.D.”
The winners are picked through online voting which was opened since mid June. The ceremony to hand out the surfboards is held at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Gibson Amphitheatre on August 9 and aired the next day.
“Gossip Girl” still has the chance to win more trophies through Best Villain and Best Soundtrack among others.

SO WRINKLES PROVE WISDOM?: Leighton Meester claims to have no fear when it comes to aging, but ask her again in a few years — after all, she’s only 23. Regardless, Meester gets a preview of her own aging process in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar, in which editors have produced digitally enhanced images of the actress to show what she’d look like into her 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. The “Gossip Girl” star is also on the cover, shot by Terry Richardson. “Any fear of aging, I think, is simply vanity,” Meester told the magazine. “Because what comes with age is so many wonderful things: wisdom, understanding.
“Every year, I’m always happy to be done with the previous age,” she says, adding she does support Botox. “If people want that, do it.”
Along those lines, Harper’s Bazaar is also launching a nationwide contest to find America’s chicest women, from age 20 to over 60. Five finalists, representing each decade between 20 and 60, will win a cash prize of $5,000 and appear in a future issue, along with a party at Hearst Tower. The contest is also a prelude to the magazine’s upcoming book, “Fabulous at Every Age: Your Quick and Easy Guide to Fashion,” in stores in November.

Leighton Meester and her boyfriend Sebastian Stan may not be friendly on Gossip Girl, but in real life he feels fortunate to be in a relationship with the star.
“I’m a really lucky guy,” Stan, 25, told reporters at the premiere of Taking Woodstock in New York City on Thursday. “She’s the most interesting, sophisticated, talented and an extremely funny person that I know. She’s really hilarious.”
Though Stan gives his costar Ed Westwick the evil eye when his character Chuck Bass gets to make out with Meester’s Blair Waldorf, it’s all in jest — and he says everyone on set is professional when it comes to romantic scenes.
“It’s work and everyone shares the same mentality when it comes to that. But we all laugh about it,” he says. “The good part is I get to go home with her.”
Besides, Stan gets his own kissing scenes with Blake Lively in the upcoming third season, which returns Sept. 14 (and will feature Tyra Banks in an episode). In preparation, the actor skips the breath mints and goes for an unconventional route of eating fruit before he puckers up.
“I try to stick to apples and pears that get stuck in my teeth to get it more interesting,” he said.
Stan says that when his character Carter Baizen’s background is revealed, it will stir up some trouble among the Upper East Siders — and especially Lively’s Serena van der Woodsen.
“They are revealing his history and where he comes from,” says Stan. “His whole background involves Serena’s character and it’s different from the other relationships on the show.”
