Stephen Colletti rang in his 22nd birthday without on-and-off-again fling Lauren Conrad.

The Laguna Beach alum — who once dated Hayden Panettiere — arrived solo to his bash, which kicked off at Stack restaurant at The Mirage in Las Vegas Friday before moving on to JET Nightclub.

Colletti didn’t seem to care about his single status.

Throughout the night, he threw back Red Bull and vodka cocktails and “got very chatty with a slew of sexy ladies,” says one club-goer. “He spent most of the night dancing as each [woman] patiently waited her turn to groove with the eligible bachelor.”

Colletti took a breather midway through the night to blow out candles on his cake by designer Jean-Philippe Patisserie before hitting the dance floor.

He called it a night around 3 a.m.

Though she’s been spotted making out with Colletti, Conrad recently told Usmagazine.com, “We’re just friends.”

MTV apparently will be looking for another magazine partner for its hit series “The Hills” next season. The show’s second season ended with Lauren Conrad and her partner in crime, Teen Vogue intern Whitney Port, going to Paris to assist then-senior editor Kimball Hastings as he covered the Crillon Ball. Port is listed as West Coast fashion contributor and Conrad as intern in Teen Vogue’s March issue, the same one where the Crillon Ball coverage will appear, but, according to a spokeswoman, their presence will cease to exist after that. “The girls have moved on from Teen Vogue,” she said, declining to say whether or not Teen Vogue will be part of the series next time (which probably means it won’t be). The two partners benefited greatly from cross-promotion — Teen Vogue featured both girls on its August 2007 cover, a top seller for the year, and Conrad by herself on its June/July 2006 cover. An MTV spokeswoman did not return calls for comment by press time.

Under the subject “Happy New Year” on her MySpace page, The Hills star Heidi Montag implied Tuesday that she is ready to put her feud with Lauren Conrad behind her this year.

“I just hope everyone is starting 2008 with a fresh clean slate like i am…the past is the past…and it is time for people to move on from negative influences in their lives and be more positive! I know at least i am going to try as hard as possible even when people don’t deserve kindness…i am still going to give them kindness! Also people should try not to judge other people in 2008!”

She also vowed “to stay way more in-touch with my myspace [sic] friends that are so loving and supportive. I will be trying to answer all my messages this year and respond to all questions!”

She did not mention Spencer Pratt, with whom she recently called off her engagement and shared a year of high and lows.

Before signing off, she wished all her friends, “a healthy, safe, loving, amazing, blessed New Year!”

Lauren was making out with Stephen Colletti, her ex from their days on Laguna Beach and a host for MTV, at LA’s Central on Saturday night.

After arriving together Conrad and Colletti stayed close to each other all night, flirting and chatting. They were spotted making out by the bar after Colletti carried her there from the dance area.
