When Lauren Conrad needs a wardrobe update, she looks no further than her own collection for Kohl’s. “I think if you’re not willing to wear your own clothes, you’re doing something wrong. This line was meant to be about my style and pieces I want to walk into a store and want to buy. If you’re not wearing your own line, you’re taking all the fun out of it,” the former reality star tells Glamour.com.
Known for her flirty frocks and California cool girl style, Lauren says her staple piece is the blazer. “We have one in every collection, and we usually update it and tweak it a little bit. In this specific collection, I also really love the biker jacket we did.”
And come spring, Lauren says she’ll be pairing her sharp toppers with lots of watercolor prints: “I think they’re very romantic and kind of timeless. I almost did too much of it with this collection. When we were shopping for prints with Kohl’s, everything I picked was watercolor and floral. They’re very in because of the whole Alice in Wonderland thing.”
However one fashion fad, the style author won’t be trying this season is hot pants. “You can’t wear them to the club, because you’re going to look like one of the dancers, but they could look cute on the beach!” says Lauren.

Lauren Conrad is fast becoming a literary legend – her second novel has landed atop the New York Times bestseller list.
The reality TV star, who shot to fame as the MTV cameras followed her move from Laguna Beach, California to Los Angeles, released her first book, L.A. Candy, last June.
The novel surprised critics by scoring the number one spot in the Children’s Chapter Books category of the newspaper’s revered list.
Conrad’s follow-up, Sweet Little Lies – about a TV reality star in Hollywood – now looks set to match her previous success.
And Conrad is delighted: “It’s so gratifying for my second book to be so successful and it was so fun to write! The characters were already developed so I really enjoyed the process so much more this time around. All the characters have become like my friends now.”
Conrad’s literary work has been snapped up by the producers behind the hit Twilight films, who bought the screen rights to the books after she won a three-year publishing deal.

From reality TV star to fashion designer to author to filmmaker — Lauren Conrad’s career will take the next step as she sees the fruits of her labor on the big screen: Temple Hill Entertainment has acquired screen rights to her bestselling debut novel L.A. Candy, Variety reports.

The novel mirrors LC’s life, revolving around a 19-year-old girl, Jane Roberts, who moves to Hollywood and rises to fame as the star of a reality TV show, but then has to deal with living such a public life. Lauren is already planning to write two more books for the series.
Bowen said they will set a writer before looking for a studio/financier for the project, which was sold by UTA. Conrad will be involved in shaping the direction of the script.
LC’s enjoying quite a bit of success this week — as her Kohl’s clothing line is also being launched.
