Lauren Conrad: My “Cellulite” Is “Not Going Anywhere”

Lauren Conrad has it all — a cute boyfriend, a fashion line, a best-selling book series … and cellulite.

“About a year ago, I looked down and thought, ‘I have cellulite. Where did that come from?'” the former Hills star, 24, says in the May issue of Glamour (on newsstands Tuesday).

She says she “went through treatments” but admits her body “was like, ‘It’s not going anywhere.'”

Another thing that makes the Sweet Little Lies author nervous is even more surprising.

“I get very uncomfortable with people watching me,” she says. “And I know that sounds silly because of the show, but we were filming with people that we’d known for years, and it was a job.”

One of the reasons she left the hit MTV reality series — the upcoming season will be its last — was to nurture her budding relationship with My Boys actor Kyle Howard, 31.

“I don’t have to clear my movie dates with a filming crew,” she says of life post-Hills with her beau since 2008.

Still, Conrad — who was shot for the Glamour “Friendship” issue with pals Whitney Port and Lo Bosworth — did enjoy the perks of being a single reality star.

“As soon as I started doing the show, I never had a boyfriend off-camera. It wasn’t allowed. So I had a rule — I would date someone for a few weeks, and that was it,” she says. “Anyway, the first two weeks are the best!”

Lauren Conrad’s favorite designer: Herself!

When Lauren Conrad needs a wardrobe update, she looks no further than her own collection for Kohl’s. “I think if you’re not willing to wear your own clothes, you’re doing something wrong. This line was meant to be about my style and pieces I want to walk into a store and want to buy. If you’re not wearing your own line, you’re taking all the fun out of it,” the former reality star tells

Known for her flirty frocks and California cool girl style, Lauren says her staple piece is the blazer. “We have one in every collection, and we usually update it and tweak it a little bit. In this specific collection, I also really love the biker jacket we did.”

And come spring, Lauren says she’ll be pairing her sharp toppers with lots of watercolor prints: “I think they’re very romantic and kind of timeless. I almost did too much of it with this collection. When we were shopping for prints with Kohl’s, everything I picked was watercolor and floral. They’re very in because of the whole Alice in Wonderland thing.”

However one fashion fad, the style author won’t be trying this season is hot pants. “You can’t wear them to the club, because you’re going to look like one of the dancers, but they could look cute on the beach!” says Lauren.

Lauren Conrad scores second bestselling book

Lauren Conrad is fast becoming a literary legend – her second novel has landed atop the New York Times bestseller list.

The reality TV star, who shot to fame as the MTV cameras followed her move from Laguna Beach, California to Los Angeles, released her first book, L.A. Candy, last June.

The novel surprised critics by scoring the number one spot in the Children’s Chapter Books category of the newspaper’s revered list.

Conrad’s follow-up, Sweet Little Lies – about a TV reality star in Hollywood – now looks set to match her previous success.

And Conrad is delighted: “It’s so gratifying for my second book to be so successful and it was so fun to write! The characters were already developed so I really enjoyed the process so much more this time around. All the characters have become like my friends now.”

Conrad’s literary work has been snapped up by the producers behind the hit Twilight films, who bought the screen rights to the books after she won a three-year publishing deal.
