Nearly a year after Anna Nicole Smith passed away, Larry Birkhead took their baby daughter, Dannielynn, to visit the graves of her mother and brother Daniel in the Bahamas.

In a special, multi-part interview with Entertainment Tonight and The Insider, airing on Wednesday, Feb. 6, Larry speaks out on why he decided to take 17-month-old Dannielynn to visit the grave. “It’s tough. Even though she doesn’t understand, it was important for us to come. One day I can tell her that we went to visit her mom.”

The graves of both Anna Nicole and her son Daniel remain unmarked, said Birkhead, because their headstones are still being finalized. “A rough draft came back with a sketch of a picture I didn’t care for. I could just hear her hitting me over the head saying, ‘Why did you let that picture go down!?’” Birkhead reveals that the design of the headstone will be “so grand and big. It’s going to encompass Daniel’s stone too.”

Larry admits to ET and The Insider that he doesn’t like that Anna Nicole and her son are buried in the Bahamas. “I know that Daniel didn’t want to be here and I know that his mother was only here because of what was going on between us with the paternity question. To me it feels really odd.” He is leaving the decision on whether to move the graves to Dannielynn, however. “I’m going to leave the decision to Dannielynn when she’s older. It would probably be very hard, if not impossible to take both of them and I definitely don’t want to separate them.”

Anna Nicole Smith’s former lover Larry Birkhead has revealed that his and the late glamor model’s daughter, Dannielynn suffers from “strabismus, which is a turning in of one of her eyes.

He told ET: “I’ve been taking her to the doctors and … [mom] Anna [Nicole Smith] had taken Dannielynn to the doctor [in the Bahamas] to see about it when she was just a few months old.”

The former photographer, 34, says the child now wears an eye patch to help treat the condition, which is prevalent in about 5 percent of children and cannot be outgrown.

“At first she was really open to it and it didn’t really bother her,” he says. “Now, she’s gotten a little smart because she can pull it off, so it’s a little bit harder for me to patch her.”

The youngster – whose name Dannielynn is a tribute to Smith’s deceased son Daniel, takes a course of medicated eye drops.

But if neither works, he says she may have to have surgery.

“I’m going to do everything to make sure that it’s corrected,” he said. “But having lost Anna and [her son] Daniel and my dad — my dad just came out of a simple surgery and he died — it’s just tough for me to think about surgeries with [Dannielynn].”

Birkhead says he is not sure how his daughter developed the eye condition.

“All of the opinions that I had [from doctors], every one of them said that it’s very, very unlikely, because no one knows one-hundred percent what causes [strabismus],” says Larry.

“But I point-blank ask every single doctor, ‘Could any medications that Anna was on have caused this?’ and they said that it’s more likely that a genetic reason could have caused it.”

Today, ET spoke to Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead as they shared their continued grief for Anna Nicole Smith on what would have been her 40th birthday.

Stern, whose own birthday is tomorrow, told ET, “My only wish is that Anna is celebrating her 40th birthday with Daniel and Howard (Marshall) in heaven and that they are able to experience the beautiful development of Dannielynn from above. Then I know that she would truly be at peace. She was more extraordinary than words can describe. I will never stop loving her.”

Birkhead reveals that he plans to commemorate Anna’s birthday with Dannielynn, “We will have a private family celebration to remember Anna. Time still hasn’t healed the wound of her untimely passing, as she truly was one of a kind. We miss her dearly.”

“Every day she does something new, and now she’s sharing her bottle with me,” Larry tells our own MARK STEINES. “So if I say, ‘Give daddy a drink,’ she’ll toss it over her shoulder. It’s cool being a dad.”

The former boyfriend of the late ANNA NICOLE and the father of her baby came out to the big Hollywood premiere of ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ Wednesday night with his nephew, and said that the requirements of being a new dad are almost the same as being a super spy.

“If MATT DAMON drops out of the next movie, maybe I’ll be available,” he jokes. “I’ve been punched and kicked and slapped by my daughter, so I’m in defense mode. She’s using me as a teething ring.”

But there was one hitch on the way to the red carpet: “She actually spit up on my jacket I was going to wear, so I had to take it off and do a quick change.”

Dannielynn is going to have her first birthday in September, and Larry says he’s weighing his options for the special day.

“I’m thinking big,” he says. “Her mom called her princess, so [I'm thinking of doing] something kind of Disney princess, or Hello Kitty — something real cool, so she can look back on it and say, ‘What a cool party.’”

As for any ladies in his life, Larry says there’s only one girl for him right now.

“The only lady in my life is my daughter, and she takes all my time, and that’s all I need right now — making up for lost time,” he says. “We’re just having fun together and hanging out.”

Stern just said “I am obviously very disappointed….I am not going to fight Larry Birkhead for custody.” Stern added “I will do evereything I can to make sure he gets sole custody.”  Stern said he’d like the transition to be “gradual” so the baby can adjust.  Stern says he will stay in the Bahamas.

1:05*Virgie Arthur just said “All I care about and all I ever cared about was the safety of Dannielynn.”  Arthur also proclaimed she “looks forward to working” with Larry. Her lawyer said it’s in Dannielynn’s best interest in maintaining a relationship with Dannielynn.  Her attorney suggested that Arthur would seek dual guardianship with Birkhead.

1:09*Howard & Larry hugged after Howard spoke, then took off in separate directions.  Howard is now apparently going to take legal aim at certain media outlets for their representation of this whole situation.

1:25*Even though Larry is the father of Dannie, he cannot legally take her out of the Bahamas, until the custody issue is resolved.  Virgie is expected to launch her own custody battle.  Until custody is determined, Howard will keep Dannie.  So will Howard and Larry become roomies for the time being?

1:37PM*Dannielynn could be a very rich little girl, especially if her ship comes in on the Marshall estate to the tune of $423 million. The question — who should administer the trust?According to Anna’s will, Stern was supposed to be the trustee for Daniel. Obviously, Anna didn’t bank on dying before Daniel and there were no provisions made for Dannielynn. This is the stuff court cases are made of. Whoever administers the trust — could earn 3% in trustee fees each year, and that comes to $12.6 million.
