PIC: Lady Gaga’s rolling around in a 24k gold wheelchair!

Lady Gaga, 26, is healing from a recent hip surgery, and she’s doing it in style!

The singer is rolling around in this one-of-a-kind luxury wheelchair, complete with a calf leather seat, a leather canopy, and a 24K gold frame. The chair was designed by luxury brand Mordekai.

Designer Borochov said in a statement that he created the ‘chariot’ in a week and took inspiration from a throne.

‘I certainly wasn’t expecting that phone call and have never done a wheelchair but am always up for a challenge and was thrilled to create what I affectionately dubbed the Chariot, a chair fit only for a queen,’ he explained.

Gaga was pictured reclining in the plush chair in a photo posted online by Terry Richardson.

With her blonde hair curled and dressed in what appeared to be a dressing gown and flat shoes, she was taking a break from her usual eye-catching clothing.

Last month Gaga posted a picture of the chair on Twitter introducing it to her followers as ‘Emma’.

It came after the Bad Romance singer was been forced to cancel all 25 remaining U.S. dates, after suffering a severe injury to her right hip that had been causing her chronic pain.

She thanked her fans for their support.

‘As they wheeled me into surgery today, I thought about all of your pain and perseverance, your unique family situations, school environments, health issues, homelessness, identity struggles – sometimes you are so brave that it terrifies me,’ she wrote.

‘So I thought to myself, I’m alive, I’m living my dream, and this is just a bump in the road. I’m grateful because this is temporary, and for some it is not.’

I mean if you can afford the chair…. why not, right? (Although I’m sure she didn’t pay for it…)

PHOTO: Lady Gaga spotted in a wheelchair following the cancellation of her world tour!

Lady Gaga was spotted in Chicago on Friday – riding in a wheelchair!

Gaga announced last week that she was going to have to cancel her ‘Born This Way’ world tour, due to the fact that she’s going to need hip surgery soon.  “After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip caused by strenuous repetitive movements in her performances,” a statement on her Little Monsters site explained.

“She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal.”

The picture above was taken by a fan at a Starbucks in Chicago. According to that fan, Gaga said her surgery would take place “within 4 or 5 days.” She’ll be holed up at boyfriend Taylor Kinney’s home, who also lives in Chicago.

Billboard has broken down the economic losses of cancelling a tour on this scale. From ticket refunds, to everything else that goes into a tour (thousands of employees overall), it was a loss of somewhere in the neighborhood of $25 million.

Gaga posted this picture (below) of her wheelchair, writing “This is Emma.”

JUST IN: Lady Gaga cancels her entire tour!

Lady Gaga her entire tour, because she has just revealed that she needs to undergo hip surgery.

Live Nation Global Touring said in a press release that Gaga has a tear in her right hip that will require surgery to fix, followed by a recovery period.

The pop star’s website showed 21 dates through March 20 remaining on her “Born This Way Ball” tour schedule. Fans who have already bought tickets will receive a refund beginning Thursday.

Lady Gaga postponed four dates on Tuesday after experiencing difficulties Monday during her concert in Montreal. The singer’s show is high energy with non-stop dancing. She explained to fans on Twitter that she’d hurt herself while performing some time ago.

She wrote: “I hid it from my staff, I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can’t”.

Gaga has not tweeted since.

A news release announcing postponements Tuesday said the 26-year-old singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, was suffering from synovitis, an inflammation of the joints. She underwent tests Wednesday morning that showed she had a labral tear in her right hip, however. The labrum is a layer of muscle that helps holds the ball-shaped hip joint in place. The news release says the surgery will require strict downtime.

The tour, in support of her second album “Born This Way,” began last April in Asia and was one of 2012’s highest grossing.

Pollstar reported the tour made more than $161 million in 2012 with an average attendance of more than 31,000, making it the fifth-highest grossing tour.

If you saw her before the cancellation – consider yourself lucky!
