Stardom can be hard, especially if you’re Lady Gaga.
The singer revealed she is still taking medication after feeling “traumatized” by her career’s sudden takeoff, which makes sense. We saw Lady Gaga EVERYWHERE from like 2011 to 2014, and then she chilled out for a bit. And Gaga herself admitted she was suffering a period of depression that left her feeling “exhausted – like I was dying”. Now, she’s preparing to release her first pop album in three years. And as we reported, she just released her new single, Perfect Illusion, which is exciting. She talked to The Mirror about all of it, and I felt all the REALNESS.
On her sudden fame: “I needed a moment to stabilize. When my career took off, I don’t remember anything at all. It’s like I’m traumatised. I needed time to recalibrate my soul.”
On her mood: “I take medication. I’m not saying I feel good because of the medication – I wouldn’t encourage young people to take anti-depressants or mood stabilisers.
On depression: “I openly admit to having battled depression and anxiety and I think a lot of people do. I think it’s better when we all say: ‘Cheers!’ And ‘fess up to it.”
On being in her 30’s: “I find in my 30s, I haven’t actually calmed down. I calm down for periods of time and then I’m actually worse – I’m more wild for a short period of time. It’s a little bit of both. But 30 is fantastic because I feel like I have all the wisdom of my 20s.”
Lady Gaga debuted her first solo music in three years yesterday, releasing the single “Perfect Illusion” online. And, now you can listen to it RIGHT HERE! Wheeee!
The song is the first track from the Grammy winner’s eagerly anticipated fifth studio album, and is a part dance song, part rock song, co-produced with DJ Mark Ronson, Kevin Parker and BloodPop. It’s about mistaking a crush for something more…something that’ll probably resonate with most of us…
The New York Post‘s Page Six reports that the video was filmed over two days in the desert near Los Angeles, and is eagerly anticipated. Well, the wait is over for the AUDIO. Have at it, internet!
And obvi, let us know what you think in the comments section below!!!
All real Lady Gaga fans know that the pop star loves food, mostly because her father taught her to love it, make it and SHARE IT. Lady Gaga’s father, Joe Germanotta, owns an Italian restaurant called Joanne Trattoria on the Upper West Side of New York City, and it’s pretty reputable.
If you haven’t been there- don’t worry. The Germanottas are releasing a cookbook, titled Joanne Trattoria Cookbook: Classic Recipes and Scenes from an Italian American Restaurant. According to Amazon, the book is authored by Joe Germanotta, and features a foreword by Gaga herself. It won’t officially be released until November, but it’s available for pre-order today, if you REALLY wanna cook like Gaga!
According to the book’s description: “Family, food, and love are the foundation upon which Joe Germanotta and his wife, Cynthia, raised their daughters, Natali and Stefani (aka Lady Gaga). Named for his sister who died of Lupus three months shy of her 20th birthday, their family-run restaurant is built on those same fundamental principals. In the pages of this cookbook, Joe has collected recipes and entertaining anecdotes inspired by his world famous restaurant.”
Sounds like a lot of love (and food) went into this book!
In the light if their sudden (and saddening!) breakup,Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga “have been talking,” a source close to the Chicago Fire actor reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. “Taylor really hopes they’ll get back together.”
I hope so. US Weekly has a lot to say about this breakup, especially that these two really love each other and want to make it work:
Though Gaga’s assistants recently moved her belongings out of Kinney’s Chicago apartment, a pal says it’s more telling that the “Poker Face” singer, 30, has held on to her heart-shaped 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring.
“There is absolutely still a chance they can get back together,” says the source, noting that, in the meantime, Gaga is focusing on recording her upcoming sixth album, while Kinney, 35, films his NBC drama (returning October 11). “She still feels terrible and hopes it can work out.”
As Us previously reported, their loved ones are already pulling for a reconciliation. “Both of their families are upset,” an insider told Us of the couple, who started dating in 2011 and then got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2015. “And his costars tell him that they miss her. Everyone is hoping they get back together.”
