Pop superstar Kylie Minogue is determined to grow old gracefully – insisting she won’t be wearing hotpants now she is 40.
The Australian beauty made a triumphant comeback to the music scene when she donned a pair of skimpy gold hotpants in the video for 2000’s Spinning Around, but claims she isn’t keen to maintain her sexy image as she gets older.
However the star, who turned 40 in May, is adamant she still belongs in the spotlight, and would love to perform more jazz-inspired sets.
She tells Britain’s Easy Living magazine, “It’s difficult to age with dignity in the pop business, but I’d like to think I’ve managed it so far. But I won’t be wearing hotpants any more!”
She adds, “A while ago I sang I Should Be So Lucky as a romantic torch song on Later… With Jools Holland (U.K. TV show). Jools accompanied me on the piano, and I can imagine working like that.”

Kylie Minogue fears her future may be lonely – insisting becoming a mother is “not the right path” for her.
The Spinning Around hitmaker says she dreams of someday having children, but fears she may have left it too late with her 40th birthday approaching next month.
But the star doesn’t feel as if she is the perfect candidate for a “conventional” family life, and looks towards childless female singing icons Debbie Harry and Dolly Parton for inspiration.
She tells the German edition of Vogue magazine, “I never had the feeling I was made for a conventional marriage with a house in the suburbs.
“There are artists such as Debbie Harry or Dolly Parton who have managed to have an unbelievable career without a family.
“Above everything else, it comes down to how much love you have in you and if you are ready to give that love. How things will turn out for me with regards to family I simply can’t yet say.”

Doctors treating Australian pop star Kylie Minogue initially misdiagnosed the singer after failing to spot she was suffering from breast cancer.
The 39-year-old began feeling unwell while she was in the middle of the Australian leg of her 2005 Show Girl tour.
Minogue saw a doctor and went straight back to work after being told she was perfectly healthy.
But several weeks later the singer later found a suspicious lump in her breast and, after consulting a different doctor’s opinion, she was diagnosed with cancer. Following a year of treatment, Minogue has now made a good recovery, but the experience has made her aware that medical tests are not always accurate. And the star urges other women to get a second opinion from their doctor if they suspect they might have the condition.
She says, “Because someone is in a white coat and using big medical instruments doesn’t necessarily mean they’re right. I don’t want to say that to frighten people but that’s just a fact. I had just had a mammogram and they didn’t find anything and a couple of weeks later I found a lump. You must follow your intuition and if you have any doubt go back again.”
