Kirsten Dunst is now a German citizen!
The 29-year-old actress recently told the German tabloid B.Z. that she just received her German citizenship.
‘I’m now a real international lady,’ the Melancholia star says, adding jubilantly, ‘one who can film in Europe without a problem.’
The blonde bombshell also says that, to remain true to her roots, she’d also love to star in a German language film.
‘It would be the greatest joy for me to act in a German film,’ she told the magazine.
However, she may have one small problem in that particular department, despite her new status as an international lady of leisure.
She does speak the language but confesses that her skills are sub-par; she speaks ‘at a child’s level.’
She frequently visits her German father’s family in Hamburg but says she enjoys the country’s capital city even more.
‘I would prefer to buy an apartment in Berlin,’ the actress adds. ‘It’s such a young city, and right now so much is happening in Berlin.’
Kirsten currently stars in ‘Melancholia’, an apocalyptic drama that follows the lives of two sisters as the end of the world approaches. Dunst received the Best Actress award at the 64th Cannes Film Festival in May for her performance.
I watched this movie on Saturday, and I have to say I really liked it. I can’t say I loved it – because it was incredibly dark and depressing, but it was beautifully dark. It wasn’t a movie I could watch again, but I would highly recommend it to my fellow film lovers. It’s depressing….like reaaaaaaaaaaaaally depressing, but it’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen. As a person who appreciates movies as much as I do, I loved it for that reason alone. I was completely in awe the whole time. Kirsten definitely deserves all the praise she receives for her role. Her portrayal of Justine, the woman who’s depression hits an all new level on the day of her wedding, was phenomenal. I could see Kirsten winning an Oscar for this role. Her haunting and sad performance sticks with you well after the movie ends.

Here are pictures of Kirsten Dunst at the London premiere of her new film, ‘Melancholia’. In the new film, directed by Lars Von Trier, Kirsten plays a depressed woman. Kirsten won Best Actress at Cannes Film Festival for her role in the film.
I absolutely love her dress! The dress, by Honor, looks stunning on her!
In a recent interview, Kirsten opened up about how her own struggles with depression made it hard for her to watch the movie.
Actress Kirsten Dunst has admitted she was ‘weirded out’ when she watched herself in her new film Melancholia.
The star, who plays a depressed woman in the film, recently revealed she found it hard to watch herself playing the role of Justine in Lars Von Trier’s latest project.
During an interview with Flare Magazine, she said: “It was really hard for me to watch because I don’t recognise myself in parts of that film. It weirds me out a little bit – like my voice change, this look in my eye. It scared me a little bit.”
The actress also spoke about depression, a condition she can relate to after she was treated for the disease in 2008.
“People are embarrassed to talk about it. I would never put anyone down that was in that kind of space,” she added.
“I think that most human beings go through some sort of depression in their life. And if they don’t, I think that’s weird.”
Also starring Kiefer Sutherland, Alexander Skarsgard, John Hurt and Stellan Skarsgard, Melancholia is set to look into the lives of two sisters, whose already strained relationship is put to the test when a planet threatens to collide with earth.
Melancholia will be released September 30.

Kirsten Dunst rocks a red Giambattista Valli top and skirt on the November cover of Canadian fashion magazine FLARE. Inside, the star of Melancholia talks to FLARE about her battle with depression, not dating actors, and what she thinks now about the controversy at Cannes.
On her 2008 treatment for depression: “I think that most human beings go through some sort of depression in their life. And if they don’t, I think that’s weird.”
On the stigmatism attached to depression: “People are embarrassed to talk about it…I would never put anyone down that was in that kind of space.”
On surprising herself with her raw performance in Melancholia: “It was really hard for me to watch because I don’t recognize myself in parts of that film. It weirds me out a little bit. Like my voice change, this look in my eye. It scared me a little bit.”
On director Lars von Trier’s anti-Semitic remarks at Cannes: “Lars is a friend of mine. I care for him deeply. He isn’t somebody that they tried to make him out to be.”
On not dating actors: “I haven’t dated an actor in a very long time. I’ve dated someone for a pretty long time now who’s not an actor [Razorlight singer Johnny Borrell], and it works better.”
On what acting means to her today: “Now I have a much more mature perspective on the whole thing and it’s not some fantasyland at all…I know what it’s like to be cooler and not as cool, and what roles did you get, and the ladders of what people expect.”
On her personal style: “I’m not someone who’s like, ‘This is my brand’…I’m not obsessed with clothes or into fads. I don’t need the It bags.”

29-year-old Kirsten Dunst and costars shot a scene for their new movie, Bachelorette, in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.
The three women appear as best friends who agree to attend the wedding of a girl they called Pigface back in high school.
Although they dislike the bride, Becky (Rebel Wilson), her motivation for inviting the girls to her nuptials isn’t entirely selfless, either.
The film also stars James Marsden and Caplan’s former Party Down co-star, Adam Scott. It is based on Leslye Headland’s Off-Broadway play; she is also directing.
Luckily for the three lead actresses, their real lives aren’t as unlucky as their characters.’
35-year-old Isla Fisher is happily married to Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen; the couple also has two daughters, 3-year-old Olive and Elula Lottie Miriam, who was born last summer.
29-year-old Lizzy Caplan is now dating Friends star Matthew Perry; the two met after she appeared on an episode of his now cancelled series, Mr. Sunshine.
But Dunst is by far the luckiest as of late.
The blonde has not only been dating Rilo Kiley drummer Jason Boesel for the last 18 months, but also won the Best Actress award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival for her role in director Lars von Triers‘ Melancholia.
She stars as Justine, a girl who suffers from a crippling depression in the movie.
I cannot wait to see ‘Melancholia’. Have you seen the trailer? Watch it here!
