Kimora Lee recently revealed to Pop Eater how she shed 25 pounds. The 35-year-old designer admitted “I shed the fat by not eating. But I don’t like to tell the kids that so they think they shouldn’t eat.” (Note: That’s a quote.)
The mother of three went on to change her tune, a bit, saying of course she eats (uh huh) she just watches her portion sizes. “I watch my portions, and I eat leaner proteins and vegetables and stuff like that.”
Well obviously after the quote of her admitting she doesn’t eat went viral, she’s been getting a lot of flack for it. And she’s released a statement on her website titled “THIS IS RIDICULOUS”:
I just wanted to take a moment to address a story about my recent weight loss that began circulating today. This story led people to believe that I shed 25 lbs by not eating, which is completely ridiculous. I am a mother of three young children, two of whom are girls and I’m trying to raise them with a healthy body image. It’s taken me almost a year to lose close to 25 lbs and I did it through healthy diet and exercise. So yes, I’m a bit smaller, but still curvy and 100% healthy and proud of my body and the time it has taken me to undergo this personal journey for myself. I’m not one of those “superstar moms” who lost all their baby weight in a week. So, yes, I’m upset about the innuendo because I just can’t win. In the past year there have been numerous rumors about my weight — first I was attacked for being a size 10, now I’m anorexic? I’m a real woman and I represent real women. I believe that people are beautiful at any size, color or weight. The way this article was promoted is unfortunate — what a silly way to sensationalize a story, especially when you know young people will be reading it. There must be more accountability in reporting, especially considering the far reaching impact on girls and young women who are exposed to this kind of misleading information on a daily basis. What kind of example is that setting for them?
I like how she’s turned this around and made the story “ridiculous”. Isn’t it her own fault she’s in this boat? She TOLD Pop Eater I shed the fat by not eating. Maybe she was joking, and it was taken seriously when she meant to be sarcastic, but its no one’s fault but her own that she’s in trouble. What’s ridiculous is that she would have joked about not eating in the first place (if it was, in fact, a joke – and not the truth).
Media mogul Kimora Lee Simmons is married to actor Djimon Hounsou, and is the ex-wife of Def Jam CEO Russell Simmons, but she doesn’t want people to get that confused with the real priorities in live. The multi-million dollar fashion diva wants the world to know that love is much more important than money.
“You could pawn the ring and get the money. And if you’re in love and it doesn’t work out, there’s always an insurance policy in there somewhere.”
She does give advice on the secret to loving the single life: chocolate. Why?
“It has an effect on the brain that is more intense than an orgasm.”

For reality star Kimora Lee Simmons, it’s Life in the Fab Lane, indeed.
The divorce between Lee Simmons, 33, and Russell Simmons, 51, has been finalized, with huge payouts for the model/fashion designer.
Simmons has agreed to pay child support for daughters, Ming, 9, and Aoki, 6, of $20,000 each per month until the girls turn 19, according to court papers filed Thursday in Los Angeles.
Lee Simmons also won sole legal and physical custody of the girls, with monitored visitation for Simmons.
“When the children are in [Simmons's] custody, they shall be accompanied at all times by a nanny and security person,” the filing reads.
Simmons also agreed to provide a new car, worth at least $60,000, for the children’s use, until they turn 16. The car will be replaced every three years, documents show.
The papers also outline a meticulous, seven-page agreement on Simmons’s visitation rights, giving him access to the girls every eighth week during their school year and on various holidays.
The couple split in March 2006. Two years later, Lee Simmons said she’s “kind of” engaged to boyfriend Djimon Hounsou.
“Both sides reached this settlement amicably, and are looking forward to moving on with their lives,” Lee’s attorney Daniel Jaffe told PEOPLE.
A lawyer for Simmons had no comment.
