Reality star Khloe Kardashian – who served 173 minutes in jail last week for a 2007 DUI charge – has some advice for actor Shia LaBeouf, who was arrested for DUI after getting into a car accident on Sunday.
“Just be smarter,” she told Usmagazine.com at the Annual Style L.A. Runway show benefitting the Facial Paralysis Foundation & Stop the Violence/Face the Music benefit, which she co-hosted with sisters Kim and Kourtney at the The Viceroy Hotel, Santa Monica, CA on Monday.
“Think about your actions and get a driver!” the 24-year-old counseled. “It’s so much cheaper in the long run!”
LaBeouf, 22, was arrested early Sunday morning following a night of boozing at West Hollywood’s Troubadour club. His 23-year-old Transformers co-star Isabel Lucas was a passenger in his truck when the accident occurred. LaBeouf required extensive hand surgery but police determined he was not at fault for the accident.
Khloe’s jail stint was short but dramatic.
“As soon as I got to Lynwood, there were three bomb threats, and so they put me in solitary confinement,” she told Ryan Seacrest on Monday. “They released me early because I was a threat to the prison.”
She pledged to “never” drink and drive again.

Khloe Kardashian’s three-hour prison spell on Friday was rocked by a bomb threat.
The party girl served just 173 minutes of a 30-day sentence for a parole violation, but she insists it was a harrowing experience.
Speaking to Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest on Monday morning, Kardashian said, “There was a bomb threat. They put me in solitary confinement and the warden came down to talk to me and said, ‘You’re the one causing all the problems here.’”
Kardashian also had to watch an “intense” instructional video about “how to be a good inmate” and to avoid fights.
She admits her time behind bars has made her think twice about drink driving - the violation that originally landed the 24 year old in trouble: “I’m very happy to have all of this behind me and to have learned a very, very good lesson and to never do it again.”
Kardashian told Seacrest she turned to alcohol to cope with the death of her father, Robert Kardashian, from cancer four years ago.
She said, “I guess drinking was a way for me to deal with it.”

Khloe Kardashian was released from Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood County, CA at 1:29 p.m. Friday – just 173 minutes after entering the jail, the L.A. Sheriff’s Department announced on their site.
She turned herself into L.A. Sheriff’s Department custody Friday morning for violating probation following a 2007 DUI arrest and was booked at 8:52 a.m.
Khloe, 23, entered the jail at 10:25 a.m.
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie were also held at that jail; Richie for just 82 minutes.
Khloe partied with sister Kim and brother Robert Jr. at Matt Leinart’s Celebrity Bowling Night at Lucky Strike Lanes in Hollywood Thursday night.
“She’s not nervous now, but I think she will be tomorrow,” Kim told Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday.
“She definitely has to live up to what she’s done and take responsibility, and she’s willing to do that. I think she just wants it over with,” she added. “Khloe is the tough one.”
She’s “ready and willing” to head to jail, Kim wrote on her blog Tuesday.
Khloe will also have to enroll in an alcohol treatment program — one of the terms of probation she failed to complete — within three weeks of her release.
Kim wrote on her blog: “I urge people to learn from the mistakes of others. Please drink responsibly, and it’s never acceptable to drink and drive!”

Khloe Kardashian turned herself in to police at Van Nuys courthouse on Friday morning.
Kardashian, 24, who appears on E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians, was booked at 8:52 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
She is serving time for violating probation following a DUI arrest. Kardashian was arrested for DUI in March 2007, and was sentenced to three years probation.
On July 3, she was sentenced to 30 days in jail after failing to complete roadside cleanup duty and enroll in an alcohol education class.
“Khloe is ready and willing to serve out her sentence, no matter how long and where, and have this resolved,” her rep previously told People.

Khloe Kardashian deserves her jail sentence for violating probation on a drink driving charge, according to the girls’ mother Kris.
The 24-year-old has been sentenced to serve three days in Los Angeles County Jail after failing to complete roadside clean-up duty and alcohol education classes following her arrest in March 2007.
But the matriarchal star of reality TV show Keeping up With The Kardashians isn’t offering her daughter any sympathy, admitting, “There’s lots of things I could be sitting here saying, and (making) excuses for my daughter. To me, she’s still 15. At this point, I’m up against a wall. What am I going to do? Scream at her? I’ve done all that.”
Khloe’s more famous older sibling Kim, 27, has meanwhile posted a blog claiming her sister is “ready and willing to serve out her sentence,” which will reportedly begin on Friday.
The older Kardashian hopes her sister’s misfortunes will help guide other teenagers: “I urge people to learn from the mistakes of others. Please drink responsibly and it’s never acceptable to drink and drive!”
