The producer of ‘R.I.P.D.’ recently opened up about the new movie, starring Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Bacon.

“It’s terrific. Based on the graphic novel. It’s about two cops, one recently dead and a gunslinger who’s been dead for hundreds of years who work [in] the Rest in Peace Department – which is the police department of the dead. And they basically … it takes place on a normal day and it’s about trying to keep the dead quiet.

“[Reynolds will] be teamed with somebody, but it’s a fantastic relationship between a cop who’s recently died who would do anything to get back to his wife and a gunslinger who died hundreds of years ago who has seen it all and is jaded by it all. And it’s the two of these guys together and it’s the relationship between these two guys that is absolutely fantastic.”

I’m kinda bummed by January Jones‘ dress here, because she had been looking absolutely adorable lately! Pregnancy suits her! Even in jeans and a t-shirt she looks amazing. So why am I not feeling this dress, designed by Preen? I think I just expected more. It’s not horrible, but it’s definitely not amazing.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo let’s move on to the rumor mill! Guess who was absent (as far as I can tell) from the ‘X-Men’ premiere last night? The director, Matthew Vaughn. Problem is, Matthew is MARRIED. Could this be why she’s not naming her baby’s father?

Sources tell The Daily January’s baby daddy most definitely IS married. January got pregnant while filming ‘X-Men’, so if it’s not Matthew, it could be one of these men: Kevin Bacon, Jason Flemyng, Oliver Platt or James McAvoy.

I have nothing nice to say about cheaters, so I hope it’s not true January would be knocked up by someone else’s husband.

Kevin Bacon strolled the beaches and streets in Miami with his wife Kyra Sedgwick yesterday afternoon. Kyra held the arm of Kevin during parts of their walk around town as they went from the beach back to their hotel.

It was announced earlier this month that Kyra’s show ‘The Closer’ on TNT would be ending after the upcoming season on TNT.

It’s impossible to fully express our appreciation to Kyra Sedgwick, series creator James Duff and all of the other talented people who brought THE CLOSER to TNT viewers,” said Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks. “THE CLOSER was a pivotal series in setting a new course for TNT’s original programming, while also serving as a prime example of the storytelling strength possible on cable television.”

“I cannot fathom how difficult it will be to say goodbye to the incredible family we’ve created on THE CLOSER,” Sedgwick said. “I will always be grateful to James Duff for his love and friendship, as well as for creating such a rich and complex character who I have loved living with year after year. Mike, Greer, Rick and all of our outstanding cast and crew are forever in my heart. I want to thank TNT and Warner Bros. Television, as well as the incredible fans of THE CLOSER, for all of their unwavering support over the last seven years.”

I really loved ‘The Closer’ for the first couple seasons, but I lost interest after that. You’ve seen one episode, you’ve seen them all IMO. But it was definitely a good show!

PS: I love them! It’s nice to see a couple that actually makes it!

When it comes to debates at home with his wife Kyra Sedgwick and their teenage daughter Sosie, Kevin Bacon says he’s the underdog – but that doesn’t stop him from being strict in the areas he deems necessary.

“With my daughter I would say she usually wins [the debates], especially in the last few years,” Bacon, 51, told PEOPLE at Tuesday’s Lexus Darker Side of Green Climate Change debate in New York City. “When they are really little you can sort of play it off, but when they turn into teenagers you start to give them the heads up about their opinions and talk about things with them. But in the end she usually wins.”

Sosie, 18, may have found a soft spot in her dad, but the Taking Chance star said he’s still the disciplinarian at home. “I think I am more than mom,” said Bacon. “I am about certain things, like curfews.”

In terms of Sosie (the Bacons also have a son, Travis, 20), “We just spoke about curfews tonight, and she said to me, ‘Do I have a curfew?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, I think you do!’ And she said, ‘I don’t think so. I haven’t had a curfew for years.’ So we had a debate about it, and I won.”

But what about debating with his wife of 21 years? “She usually wins,” he said with a big smile. “She’s a very good arguer. She always makes good solid points, and I just nod and agree.”

Love them! They’re one of my favorite Hollywood couples!

Kyra Sedgwick and her actor-husband, Kevin Bacon, managed to stay out of the gossip pages until they were among the many victims of the massive Ponzi scheme run by financier Bernard Madoff.

“I think the interesting thing about it was that I always thought, `We’re so boring. We should be in the tabloids more. C’mon honey, let’s have a scandal,’” the 43-year-old actress said.

“Well, it wasn’t the truth that we were destroyed,” Sedgwick said in a recent conference call from New York. “And I think when you say `no comment,’ that’s, of course, where they’re going to go, because it’s fun and it grabs headlines and people will be more interested.”

“It’s been really unpleasant and makes you feel really vulnerable. But the fact of the matter is that we did not lose everything,” she said. “We lost hard-earned money that we worked very hard for that was what we thought in a safe place. It’s painful but a lot of people lost a lot more. And we have a lot of things to be grateful for in our life, and we never ever forget that.”

Kevin Bacon and wife Kyra Sedgwick were among the celebrities taken to the cleaners in the alleged Ponzi scheme run by disgraced financier Bernard Madoff, but Kevin tells Life & Style he’s trying to keep his losses in perspective. “There are a lot of things I’m grateful for: my health, my family, my career, my family’s health,” he told Life & Style Friday at a Television Critics Association press event in LA. “We’ll march on. We have to. There’s nothing you can do about it. You can’t change what happened. Things could be worse. You remember that, and you go on with your life.”

But Kevin was shocked by the news of Madoff’s scam. “I didn’t see it coming,” he said. Asked by Life & Style what he’s currently working on, Kevin replied: “I don’t have anything lined up right now, but I need to work, for obvious reasons.”
