Love them! They’re one of my favorite Hollywood couples!
Kyra Sedgwick and her actor-husband, Kevin Bacon, managed to stay out of the gossip pages until they were among the many victims of the massive Ponzi scheme run by financier Bernard Madoff.
“I think the interesting thing about it was that I always thought, `We’re so boring. We should be in the tabloids more. C’mon honey, let’s have a scandal,’” the 43-year-old actress said.
“Well, it wasn’t the truth that we were destroyed,” Sedgwick said in a recent conference call from New York. “And I think when you say `no comment,’ that’s, of course, where they’re going to go, because it’s fun and it grabs headlines and people will be more interested.”
“It’s been really unpleasant and makes you feel really vulnerable. But the fact of the matter is that we did not lose everything,” she said. “We lost hard-earned money that we worked very hard for that was what we thought in a safe place. It’s painful but a lot of people lost a lot more. And we have a lot of things to be grateful for in our life, and we never ever forget that.”

Kevin Bacon and wife Kyra Sedgwick were among the celebrities taken to the cleaners in the alleged Ponzi scheme run by disgraced financier Bernard Madoff, but Kevin tells Life & Style he’s trying to keep his losses in perspective. “There are a lot of things I’m grateful for: my health, my family, my career, my family’s health,” he told Life & Style Friday at a Television Critics Association press event in LA. “We’ll march on. We have to. There’s nothing you can do about it. You can’t change what happened. Things could be worse. You remember that, and you go on with your life.”
But Kevin was shocked by the news of Madoff’s scam. “I didn’t see it coming,” he said. Asked by Life & Style what he’s currently working on, Kevin replied: “I don’t have anything lined up right now, but I need to work, for obvious reasons.”

From NY Mag:
The crap thing about being Kevin Bacon, it turns out, is that sometimes you find yourself six degrees from the wrong kind of guy. Such as, for instance, Bernie Madoff. We’d heard that along with Hollywood boldfacers Jeffrey Katzenberg and Steven Spielberg, Bacon and his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, lost money in Madoff’s devastating $50 billion Ponzi scheme, and Bacon’s rep, Allen Eichorn, confirmed it for us. “Unfortunately, your report is true,” he wrote. He wouldn’t elaborate on whether, as we’d heard, they’d lost everything except for their checking accounts and the land they own. “I can confirm that they had investments with Mr. Madoff — no further specifics or comment beyond that,” he said, adding: “Please, let’s not speculate or rely on hearsay.”
But we can’t help but speculate! Just think about it: Footloose money: gone. Wild Things residuals: gone. The Singles stash: obliterated. If there’s anyone in Hollywood who didn’t deserve this, it’s Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick. Those two have worked. It sincerely pains us. At least they have The Closer to fall back on.

Kevin Bacon will return to his musical roots when he performs at a New York concert with his brother on Tuesday.
Bacon, 49, formed his folk band The Bacon Brothers Duo with older brother Michael in 1995.
The pair is set to headline The Queens Theater in the Park Gala with a 70-minute set that will raise funds for local performing arts programs.
But the actor – who shares two children with his wife of 20 years, actress Kyra Sedgwick – admits he’s anxious to take the stage, insisting even his own family is reluctant to attend his performances.
He says, “I always say the biggest surprise for people is that we don’t totally suck. And we don’t expect anyone to like it or to give us a pass based on the fact that there’s an actor or a celebrity in the band. We just want people to put on an even playing field and to have fun. It’s like pulling teeth to get (my family) to come. My kids, love me as they do, they usually have something they’re more interested in doing other (things) than coming to our show.”
The Bacon brothers have released four studio albums in the 13 years since their debut.
