Oh SNAP, Kelly Ripa Won’t EVER Join “The View” Or “Good Morning America.”

Live cohost Michael Strahan may be leaving soon, but Kelly Ripa is staying RIGHT WHERE SHE IS.

Amid the drama surrounding Strahan’s exit, speculation swirled that Ripa, 45, might want to leave for a show such as GMA or The View, as she’s an older, kinda-boring lady with a lot of energy and opinions. And honestly, those shows probably pay better for what she’s offerin.’ BUT- Ripa insists Live is her daytime TV home.Which might be the case, but might not. Hard to say if a show will fly with just Kelly. People reports:

“Our show is very different than your standard television program that has hosts on air. We do everything out in the open,” Ripa tells PEOPLE in an interview for this week’s cover story. “If we need to know something it’s usually written on a card. If we need to talk to the director we yell up to the director and he yells down over a PA system.

Early in her Live tenure, she was asked to fill in temporarily for Meredith Vieira on The View – and she ended up making a faux pas on air that she still recalls with laughter.

“I have this earpiece in,” says Ripa. “We’re talking to – and I can’t for the life of me remember who the celebrity was, because I freaked myself out so much – but [the producers in my ear] said, ‘Kelly?’ And on the air I say out loud, ‘Yes?’ And they say, ‘Okay, don’t answer us out loud.’ And I say, ‘Okay, I’m sorry, I won’t [still out loud].’ “
Ripa eventually got the hang of it, but says she still prefers the environment she has cultivated at Live.
Live is my daytime home. That is where I am the most comfortable, that allows me the freedom to do other projects, and raise my children, and be able to show up for all of their practices, and all of their extra curricular stuff,” says Ripa, who shares three children with husband Mark Consuelos. “It’s been a blessing for me as a working mother to be able to have stability, to be able to raise my children in one place their whole lives.”

So the difference is stability and not enough money for a prompter and a good means of communication? Hmmm…I’m not convinced, Kelly. This kinda just sounds like someone who wishes their show would never change, even though I hate to break it to ya, change happens.

Kelly Ripa Opens Up About What REALLY Happened With Michael Strahan

Screen Shot 2016-05-11 at 1.17.48 PM

Time for Kelly Ripa to share HER side of the story.

We reported on this whole Michael Strahan leaving Live! With Kelly and Michael debacle a while back, but post- vacay Kelly’s got a clearer head and took an interview with People about how she’s feeling. And yes, she’s doing the whole diplomatic being “excited” for the soon-to-be Good Morning America star, but you can tell she’s still super wounded about the whole thing:

“There’s a part of me that can say, ‘Okay, I understand. This may have been an oversight,’ ” Ripa explains of getting the information late. “And again, after 26 years, at this point we are like a family. And sometimes when you are so comfortable with somebody, you may not give them the same consideration as somebody you’re not as comfortable with – a certain formality falls away.”

A source told People in April that Ripa felt “betrayed and so hurt” by how Strahan’s announcement was handled, and she later explained to the show’s audience that the entire scenario highlighted the importance of “communication, consideration and, most importantly, respect in the workplace.”

“I think that all people are deserving of fair treatment in the work place. People deserve respect,” Ripa tells PEOPLE. “People should be treated equally and with dignity.”

She continues, “I think that requires a certain amount of empathy on a level. When you’re dealing with big business, it’s easy to forget that you’re dealing with people and that people have feelings. It’s easy to just look at it like a business unit, a unit, a unit.”

Despite the drama, Ripa realizes that this is a business and maybe she’s seen as stronger than she looks: “I’m not dealing with monsters. I don’t think of anybody as a monster or out to get me. But sometimes stability and dependability can be misinterpreted as passive. Like, ‘Oh, we don’t have to worry about her, she’s fine. She’s fine.’

See? She sounds a little wounded, still. How do you think she’s been handling Michael’s news?

Mario Lopez Might Be Up For Being Kelly Ripa’s Co-Host

Screen Shot 2016-04-29 at 9.08.40 AM

Mario Lopez is loving this.

The host did nothing to quell the rumors that he might be lining up to replace Michael Strahan on Live with Kelly and Michael during a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show. As he talked to Ellen DeGeneres, Lopez refused to deny that he’s being considered for the show alongside Kelly Ripa, which is of course fine, but also, c’mon. You KNOW Kelly wants Anderson Cooper and/or Andy Cohen wayyyyy more than you, bro. US Weekly reports:

“That’s very flattering. Very flattering. You’re so nice,” Lopez replied when DeGeneres said she’d heard the rumors. “I know, people were saying that. I love Kelly. I’ve guest-hosted with her a few times — she’s awesome. I actually did a movie with her husband, Mark [Consuelos], who’s a real good guy,” he added, in a minor attempt to change the subject.

“Yeah, he seems like it,” said DeGeneres, refusing to be deflected.

“I’m looking forward to going back and guest-hosting again,” he replied.

“‘Cause you’re gonna guest-host again?” DeGeneres continued, refusing to let the topic drop.

“Yes, I’m looking forward to it.”

“And then maybe you’ll be the replacement?” the 58-year-old TV star pressed. “I’m not starting rumors. You’re not shutting it down. You’re not saying, ‘Absolutely not,'” she noted.

“Well, I got to go over everything with Mrs. Lopez. She’s the real boss of the house, so we’ll see what she has to say about that,” replied Lopez, 42.

Ugh. I find Mario Lopez corny as hell and I think this move is in alignment with that corniness. He’s just trying to drum up publicity and still being cute and smug. BARF.

Kelly Ripa Got A Personal Apology From ABC Execs

And now, she’s being treated like a Queen? Confused.

Kelly Ripa has been at the center of one of television’s most random scandals recently, but she finally made her way back to Live! with Kelly and Michael on Tuesday, thanking fans for their support of her time to think things through and fume privately on a “vacation.”

A review: Michael Strahan blindsided Kelly last week with the news he would be leaving Live! for Good Morning America this September, and his cohost just…stopped showing up to work. Very mature. Well, now that she’s had the weekend to chill, she still feels disrespected but feels happy that a bigger conversation on workplace policies has been opened… but we’re sure she’s mostly just pleased that ABC has guaranteed her that Live! is once again a priority for the parent company.

I dunno- Michael is doing what’s best for him. I think Kelly acted kinda childishly. It’s just business, baby!
