Kellan Lutz is a single man! The ‘Twilight’ actor broke up with Australian actress Sharni Vinson earlier this month. Lutz, 28, and Vinson, 29, have been together since September 2011.

In the early stages of their relationship, Lutz often gushed about his compatibly with Vinson. “She’s a happy person, which really just clicks with me,” he once said of the Home and Away soap star. “It’s just great to have someone you can smile with all the time. It’s really special.”

The North Dakota native previously dated 90210 actress AnnaLynne McCord on-and-off from 2008 to 2010. Vinson, meanwhile, was linked to CSI: NY vet A. J. Buckley from 2007 to 2008.

Lutz currently appears in the film Syrup, costarring Amber Heard, Brittany Snow and Shiloh Fernandez. The drama is available on demand now and arrives in theaters June 7.

Kellan Lutz has signed on to play the title role in Nu Image/Millennium’s upcoming “Hercules 3D.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, director Renny Marlin will begin shooting the $70 million Greek epic in May.

“It takes more than a good physique to portray the most legendary, mythological personality in history — and Kellan has exactly that, personality,” Harlin told The Hollywood Reporter. “He’s not afraid to explore the strengths and vulnerabilities of the character, and he impressed me with his passion and heart.”

Harlin calls this Lutz’s “breakout role” and his “chance to shine as an actor.” In keeping with his appearances in all five “Twilight” entries, Lutz’s résumé includes a variety of teen-friendly flicks, including “Stick It,” “Prom Night” and the 2010 remake of “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” The actor will soon portray Tarzan in a 3-D production slated for release this summer.

Harlin’s Hercules story will center on the love between the hero and the mortal princess of Crete.

In a March 2012 interview with British GQ, while discussing his role in “Immortals,” Lutz discussed his affinity for using weapons in movies, which he’ll surely be asked to do while playing Hercules. “I’m really great with weapons: I did a lot of bo and staff training for ‘Immortals,’” he said. “I love knives. I’m a pretty good shot. But I love hand-to-hand combat.”

How do we feel about Kellan playing Hercules? I don’t know if this will be his “breakout role” but it will certainly make or break him. Makes me nervous, if I’m being honest!

Twilight actor Kellan Lutz bares all in the December issue of ELLE.  In the issue, he dishes on romancing the ladies, dealing with “twihard” fans, and even how he felt about his “first time.”

On girls who are interested in him purely because of Twilight:

“I’ve been blessed with a good head on my shoulders and quite a good ability of discernment. I can see through people. I have more people lying to me today that I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t think I’ve changed one bit. The world’s changed.

On being underestimated:

“They think, He has blond hair, blue eyes, he’s a big, fit guy—he’s probably not the sharpest tool in the shed.”

On the most romantic thing he’s done for a woman:

“When I was in sixth grade, I’d go to the dollar store to get this girl, Kelsey, gifts. I read in some magazine that girls love gifts. I’d get a couple pieces of candy, a rose. I loved being Romeo to her Juliet. Then I got her this ‘gold’ necklace from the dollar store. How was I supposed to know there’s fake gold? She found out I’d gotten it at the dollar store- and she got mad at me. And I was trying to do the most romantic thing I’d ever done!

On if he’d do anything differently about his “first time:”

“It was high school- with the love of my life, at the time. It wasn’t one of those drunk moments at a party. Everything was just really caring and done out of love. It was one of those really sweet, loving, connected moments.”

On staying connected to his faith:

“I have a Bible study that my friends and I go to here in L.A. I go to church every Sunday. I’ve always been a believer. I love singing. I don’t have the best voice- I just love getting my emotions out.”

I met Kellan a couple years ago at some MTV thing, and he actually was pretty amazing. Very humble, very kind. Very talkative, didn’t seem very self-centered. OH – and he’s MUCH better looking in person.

‘Twilight’ actor Kellan Lutz was spotted yesterday with his girlfriend Sharni Vinson on the beach in Miami, Florida.

The couple showed off their toned (and in her case, super skinny) bodies!

Kellan is currently working on a film adaption of ‘Tarzan’, in which he will play the title character (a wild man, raised in the jungle and falls in love with a civilized Jane, played by 20-year-old ‘Cougar Town’ actress Spencer Locke).

Yesterday Kellan appeared in the Florida Everglades to show his support for the wetland region and the American crocodiles that live here. He tweeted “Standing in the middle of the Everglades! Such a special place.”

Kellan Lutz appeared at three different meanswear shows in Milan over the weekend with his new girlfriend, Sharni Vinson.

The couple took in the Emporio Armani, Roberto Cavalli and John Richmond shows. The couple wore the designer’s looks to each show.

Kellan Lutz looks so……. gay to me. I can’t put my finger on exactly what it is, but it’s true! Especially in the picture above! I’ve met Kellan, and he’s a very nice guy, and certainly hotter in real life. He never looks that hot to me in pictures.
