Just one day after Kelis gave birth to her soon-to-be ex-husband Nas‘ son, an LA judge ordered the rapper to pay nearly $40,000 in monthly child support, according to legal documents.

On July 22, the “Milkshake” singer, who filed for divorce from Nas in April, welcomed their baby boy, Knight, into the world. The next day, LA Superior Court Judge Louis Meisinger ruled that Nas would have to pay $45,000 for his ex’s attorney fees, as well as $30,471 a month in spousal support and $9,027 in child support.

The former couple married in 2005 and will be back in court on September 8 for a hearing to determine whether the monthly support payments should be revised.

Rapper Nas was banned from witnessing the birth of his baby boy with Kelis because he was too drunk, according to a report.

The Milkshake hitmaker went into labor on Tuesday morning, and was admitted to a New York hospital.

Her former partner turned up at the clinic in the early hours of Wednesday morning and attempted to go to Kelis’ bedside – but staff turned him away, reportedly because he was under the influence of alcohol.

The hip-hop star had been performing in New York earlier in the night, where he announced to fans in the crowd that he was drunk on champagne, according to TMZ.com.

However, Nas is refusing to let the dismissal dampen his celebrations, as he announced his happy news in a video posted online on Tuesday.

In the clip, Nas tells fans: “My son is (sic) born today, so shout-out to my son, Knight. That’s what I named the young God, Knight. Y’all heard it first.”

The former couple is in the middle of divorce proceedings and were due to appear in court on Tuesday to negotiate the terms of their marriage split. However, they were both excused by court officials in light of the baby’s birth.

The baby will be Nas’ second child – he also has a teenage daughter, Destiny, from a previous relationship.

“Milkshake” singer Kelis is a new mom!

The singer, 29, gave birth to baby boy named Knight on Tuesday.

Kelis’ ex, rapper Nas, posted an online video celebrating the birth of his son.

“My son is born today, so shout-out to my son, Knight,” the rapper said in a clip.

Us Weekly exclusively revealed Kelis’ pregnancy last January. At the time, she was still married to Nas, 35, who is also dad to a 15-year-old from a prior relationship.

“It’s all they are talking about,” a source told Us at the time of Kelis and her ex. “She is carrying hip-hop royalty! They are so excited.”

The couple called it quits in May after Kelis, then 7 months pregnant, filed for divorce citing verbal abuse and infidelity, according to Vibe, which first reported the break up.

The couple — who met at a 2002 MTV Video Music Awards afterparty thrown by Diddy — tied the knot in a small ceremony in Atlanta in January 2005.

Rapper Nas and his 7-months-pregnant wife Kelis are splitting, her rep confirms to Usmagazine.com.

“I can confirm that she filed for divorce,” her rep said in a statement. “We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time.”

A lawyer for Kelis – most known for her hit “Milkshake” — filed divorce papers Thursday afternoon citing verbal abuse and infidelity, according to Vibe, which first reported the break up.

In February, Nas said he was “so happy” after finding out Kelis was expecting their first child. (He is also dad to a 15-year-old from a prior relationship.)

The couple met in 2002 at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty thrown by Diddy.

After dating for two years, they wed in Atlanta in January 2005.

Singer Kelis was arrested early Friday morning in Miami Beach after screaming racial obscenities at two female police officers who were posing as prostitutes. Damn. She’s bossy!

The officers were working an undercover operation in South Beach, when cops say Kelis started screaming racial slurs at the women. She continued screaming and rushed toward them, and had to be restrained by friends, a police report said. According to the report, Kelis’ “actions caused people walking by to stop and form a crowd. The sidewalk was blocked by the disturbance, causing people to walk in the street and causing traffic to stop.”

Kelis, the wife of rapper Nas, was charged with two misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and for resisting arrest.

A rep for Kelis had no comment.
