Before hitting rehearsals for the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas this weekend, Keith Urban told a local radio station Saturday that he can’t wait to become a father.

“I’m very excited about it,” Urban told KCYE in Sin City. Although the singer is not sure of wife Nicole Kidman’s exact due date, they do know the baby’s gender. “But I’m not saying,” he added. “I’m glad we found out though, because it brought it home, you know what I’m saying.”

Urban, who is nominated for entertainer of the year at Sunday’s award show, has descended on Vegas – along with many of country music’s biggest stars – to prepare. “I’m not worried about anything,” Urban said about pre-show jitters. “I feel so grateful for this year.”

Even though Kidman skipped Urban’s rehearsal at MGM’s Grand Garden Arena on Saturday afternoon, she is expected to attend Sunday’s show.

During the afternoon rehearsal Urban, wearing a plaid shirt and baseball cap, appeared to be in a great mood, bobbing his head to the music. After the first run-through of the song “Tu Compania,” Urban said, “That’s fun!”

As part of the performance, several lucky fans surrounded the singer, creating a country mosh pit of sorts. “Do you’ll know all your parts?” Urban joked with the excited fans.

“We love you!” yelled one female fan.

And by all appearances, Urban loves them too, turning out a foot-stomping performance and flashing a huge smile when he finished his 40-minute rehearsal.

The country star was also joined by new artist nominee Sarah Buxton during his rehearsal performance. (And, in turn, Urban made a surprise appearance on stage with Buxton Saturday evening at New Artists’ Party for a Cause where the duo performed two songs.)

As Urban prepares for fatherhood, he’s not alone among his country music pals. Joe Don Rooney of Rascal Flatts is also set to be a dad for the first time. His wife, Tiffany Fallon, is due “any minute,” he said.

At the Home Depot Celebrity Golf Tournament, Rooney told People, “I might be putting on the fourth hole and get that call and I’m off on a plane. She’s ready to get this baby out.”

As for Urban, Rascal Flatts lead singer Gary LeVox says he expects him to be a hands-on father. “Keith is such a passionate person,” LeVox said. “He’ll be a great dad for sure.”

Where’s the baby!  She announced her pregnancy on January 8th.  She probably wouldn’t announce her pregnancy until she was 3 months along.  That puts her at about 5-6 months.  You can’t even tell she’s pregnant!

Country star Keith Urban is going green on his upcoming tour by running his tour buses on biodiesel fuel and offering fans the chance to buy t-shirts made from recycled plastic bottles. He has teamed up with environmental t-shirt firm Chaser Merchandise to make sure the gear he’s offering fans is as green as possible.

He says, “While I am far from the greenest guy on the block, I do look for situations where I can make even a small difference. And so the idea that our concert tees could retain the same look and feel, but be partly made from recycled materials appealed greatly to me.”

Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban are to become the latest celebrities to launch their own clothing range.

The collection will be called ‘Hank Evie’, the couple’s nicknames for each other when they first started dating.

Urban has only sold Hank Evie t-shirts on his website so far, but has now trademarked the brand in both Australia and the US.

The pair – who are expecting their first baby in July – plan to expand their collection to include clothing, belt buckles, shoes, bags, boxer shorts and pajamas.

Other stars to venture into the fashion world include Elle Macpherson, Kylie Minogue, Gwen Stefani, Beyoncé and Kirsten Dunst.

Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban are expecting their first child, her rep confirms.

“The couple are thrilled,” the rep says in a statement.

For Kidman, this will be her third child. She and her former husband, Tom Cruise adopted two children during their marriage: Isabella, now 15, and Connor, 12.

As for where Kidman and Urban, who will be a first-time parent, may bring up their impending arrival, the couple, though both Australian, purchased a farm near Leipers Fork, Tenn., a half-hour southwest of Nashville, in 2007.

The couple, who have been married 18 months, wed, after a yearlong courtship, on June 25, 2006, in a candlelit ceremony at Sydney, Australia’s Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel on St. Patrick’s Estate at Manly. Guests at the black-tie event included Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Naomi Watts and Rupert Murdoch.

Before the couple even started dating, Kidman made her desire for more children clear. In April 2005, she told reporters that her biological clock was ticking. “I have got hormones running through my system,” she said. “That is why I sit wriggling, saying I want to have a baby.”
