Katy Perry who split from boyfriend Robert Ackroyd earlier this week, kissed a Marine after plucking him from the audience during Fleet Week.

The singer was at a block party for the Navy, Marine and Coast Guard, when she pulled a lucky Marine onstage, and reenacted the famous “V-J Day in Times Square” photo.

“Do you wanna do it?” Perry asked the very willing serviceman. “You’re not gonna drop me … you drop me I’m gonna sic all my friends on you!”

With a dip and a kiss, the crowd went wild — and this year, they’re more excited than ever.

According to the Department of Defense, over 6,000 troops will take part in the 25th anniversary of Fleet Week in NYC.

Katy Perry stepped out in NYC last night, looking very goth! The singer is in the city for Fleet Week and to promote her upcoming documentary, ‘Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D’.

Katy was also named the fourth hottest woman on Maxim’s Hot 100 list.

‘I’m very flattered that someone still thinks I’m hot,’ she told ET Online.

‘I think it’s the weirdness [that makes me hot]. Maybe it’s just that fact that I’m OK with being a geek.’

Katy is getting ready to show another side of herself to the public in her new film showing what it’s really like to walk in the pop star’s shoes.

‘Well it’s a lot of different parts of me, this film, and some of them are, well they were difficult to put in – especially the ones of me with no make-up,’ Katy said to Access Hollywood.

The movie, which hits theaters on July 8, shows the hard work involved in her global-dominating career.

‘I feel like it’s important for me, right now, to start breaking down the stereotype that everyone that’s in this position is perfect, and that if you want to achieve your goals or your dreams that you have to be perfect or you have to be rich or you have to own this one thing,’ Katy said.

‘I don’t think that’s how you get anywhere,’ she added.

‘I think it’s really just based on hard work, which you see a lot of it in this film, and talent, and I think people will feel like they are experiencing it through my eyes… like it’s from exactly my point of view.’

The film also features her divorce from Rusell Brand which will be finalised in July.

They split just two months after their first wedding anniversary.

Katy added that Part of Me is dedicated to her loyal followers.

I’m excited to see her documentary…I think it looks really interesting!

Katy Perry is back on the market…again.

After splitting with Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd, Katy is back looking for love.  E! News reports that the pair’s fling was just a rebound to begin with, despite lots of photographs of Perry and Ackroyd getting hot and heavy at Coachella. 

“It wasn’t serious,” a source for E! News said. “She likes him a lot, but it was just a distraction. It was very short-lived, she’s still dealing with getting over her marriage and it’s going to take her a while to truly be able to trust someone again.”

Perry has also been tied to 22-year-old French model Baptiste Giabiconi since her divorce.  Rebound away, Perry!  Get over Russell Brand!

Ellen: Like you said, you shot the good, the bad. Who knows what’s going to happen in your life when you start shooting things? You got married during that time.

Katy: I did.

Ellen: And then that didn’t turn out to last and that part of it is still in there?

Katy: I thought it was important for me..First of all, I thought it was important to show everything in between. I think sometimes people think that we’re perfect and we know we’re not perfect, at all. I think it’s important start breaking down the idea that to achieve your dream you always have to be perfect or flawless or live in some kind of fantasy world. So that’s why I decided to put everything into the film. In the most tasteful way. But mostly it’s about how I go there and the ride along the way which can be bumpy but mostly it was extremely fun…

I actually really want to see her movie. From what I’ve seen so far it looks like it will be really interesting!

Katy Perry not only picked up the Spotlight Award for matching Michael Jackson’s record of five No. 1 hits on a single album, but she also debuted her new song “Wide Awake” live on the Billboard stage.

The song was written for her upcoming 3D movie, “Katy Perry: Part of Me”. “I’m wide awake. I was in the dark, I was falling hard with an open heart. How did I read the stars so wrong. I was dreaming for so long. I wish I knew then what I know now. I wouldn’t dive in, I wouldn’t bow down,” she sings about her divorce from comedian Russell Brand.

“Not losing any sleep, I picked up every piece and landed on my feet. Need nothing to complete myself. I am born again, outta the lion’s den. I don’t have to pretend. The story’s over now, the end.”

Though it’s known Katy Perry and Russell Brand didn’t have the smoothest of divorces,  Brand has nothing but lovely things to say about Katy at his thursday appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show. 

“I still love her as a human being,” Brand said. “But, sometimes when you’re in a relationship I suppose it doesn’t work out, does it? But that doesn’t mean I regret it or anything.” He went on to say that he was very happy to be married to Katy, because “she’s such a beautiful human being and I just have only love and positivity for her.”

Still, when asked about their breakup, Brand said: “You can’t absolutely make everything the way you want it to be in life. Sometimes thing are just different and then you to just move with that and try and remain in contact with what is beautiful about yourself and each other with any situation.”

Very nice!  Both are rebounding, but I hope Brand’s words are truth and not just for the cameras.

Bright “California Gurl” Katy Perry has turned to the dark side!

The sexy singer stepped out to the NARM Music Biz Awards Dinner Party in Century City, California last night sporting a new goth look.

Wearing a tight black dress with some revealing cutouts, Perry matched her pale-looking foundation with dark lips and a heavy eye. Her purple hair looked longer and darker as well.

While she’s been linked to Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd, she hit the red carpet solo.
