Yesterday I blogged about how Suri Cruise‘s grandparents (Katie’s parents) are worried about her.

Well, Katie Holmes decided to speak up.

When approached at the John Frieda Precision Foam Colour event last night in NYC, actress and mom Katie responded “no” when asked if she was tired of her parenting being critiqued. She added, “Suri is doing great, thank you.”

But, Katie… is Suri really “doing great” with all of her “1 a.m. dinners, playing with penis-shaped candies and still being allowed to use a pacifier”…??

Suri’s turning five next month! Shouldn’t her parents be a little more concerned??

We’ve all watched little Suri Cruise grow up, literally.

Now that she’s no longer a baby, Katie Holmes‘ Midwestern parents decide to speak up.

After seeing a tired Suri out for 1 a.m. dinners, playing with penis-shaped candies and still being allowed to use a pacifier, Martin and Kathleen Holmes, “are really upset,” an insider tells Life & Style, with the lack of boundaries Tom and Katie are setting for their little daughter. “They’re very worried that Tom isn’t letting Suri enjoy the childhood she deserves because of his Scientology beliefs.”

The practice has already taken a toll on poor Suri, says a second insider. “She often throws temper tantrums when she’s out with Katie and Tom,” the insider says. An eyewitness tells Life & Style that during a late-night trip to Serendipity in NYC on March 15, Katie and a nanny couldn’t get Suri into her car seat. “As always, Suri won and didn’t have to sit in her car seat,” says the witness.

While experts disagree about many aspects of child-rearing, they’re unanimous on one thing: Parents should never give in to a child when it comes to car seats. According to New York state law, children Suri’s age must use a booster seat at minimum.

“Kids are not little adults,” child psychologist Vicki Panaccione tells Life & Style. “Their reasoning abilities, nervous systems, decision-making processes and moral judgment are just not up to adult development.”

Is it the Hollywood lifestyle? Or Scientology? Or both?

I don’t see how actress Katie Holmes has time for anything these days, let alone a secret hobby! Between being a doting wife and mother, in addition to her acting career, running her own fashion line, Holmes & Yang, and always traveling around the world, the actress reveals that she does have a favorite  hobby that most don’t know about:

“My husband got me a sewing machine for my birthday. My mom grew up making curtains and pillows and everything, and it made our home very warm, so I like to do things like that with my daughter.”

That’s so precious! I bet little Suri’s creations are just too sweet.

Katie Holmes is in New York City with her design partner, Jeanne Yang, where they previewed their Holmes & Yang Fall 2011 collection yesterday.

The actress was spotted yesterday carrying several garmet bags and suitcases full of clothes after the event. In these pics, Katie’s wearing a pair of polka dot heels and carried a Max Mara “Margaux” tote.

Actress and wife to Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, received the royal treatment with her daughter Suri as they escaped Manhattan, NY today via helicopter at the 34th Street Heliport in New York. Though there aren’t any details regarding the would be clandestine departure, Suri held close to her mommy and shied away from the cameras, sans pacifier.

I wonder what the big rush was all about?
