They sure do grow up fast in Hollywood! Little Suri Cruise is not even 2 yet, but already mom Katie Holmes says, “She’s a very strong woman.”

“I’m very proud of her,” the 29-year-old actress added to PEOPLE at Thursday’s Glamour magazine kickoff event for V-Day’s 10th Anniversary. “She’s actually teaching me a lot – probably more than I’m teaching her.

The Mad Money star said she attended the event to support friends Eve Ensler (the author of The Vagina Monologues) and Paula Wagner (husband Tom Cruise’s production partner) – but she couldn’t help singing the praises of her talented toddler.

“She’s very smart and strong,” Holmes concluded. “And really magical.”

Katie Holmes is gorgeous.  I mean she really is very beautiful (her skin is flawless!).  Why then, does she insist on dressing like a 45 year old?  This dress is AWFUL!  Imagine how beautiful she would be in some hot dress!  She needs to switch closest with Katherine Heigl – she always looks amazing.

Katie Holmes and Christina Aguilera have both signed on to star together in the drama, Humboldt Park. Shooting for the film will begin in February of 2008, weeks after Christina is due to give birth to her first child.

A source says, “(Holmes) is trying to prove she can do more than fluffy popcorn movies“, and starring alongside Aguilera “shows she’s willing to take risks“.

Is there a feud brewing between Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman?

Holmes, the star of Mad Money, 29, has been moving more and more into the role of mother to stepchildren Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13. “They call me Mom,” she tells Parade.

As Us Weekly reports in its new issue on newsstands now, this coincides with 40-year-old Kidman’s confession on a British TV show that her two kids with Tom Cruise no longer “call me Mummy.”

“It’s Mum or sometimes Nicole. I’m like, ‘Hey!’” she said. (Kidman’s rep tells Us she was only “joking around.”)

“Isabella especially took to [Katie] right away,” a source close to the family tells Us.

Adding to the tension is the fact that Cruise is raising his children as Scientologists, something the Catholic-raised Kidman is “not cool with,” an insider tells Us.

With only days until Christmas, Katie Holmes & Little Miss Suri were spotted grabbing a few last-minute gifts at Maxfield’s & Fred Segal yesterday.

Clutching a stuffed-animal pony, Suri looked excited to be out & about amongst the holiday hustle and bustle. The “Dawson’s Creek” actress looked like a seasoned pro when it came to plunking down the big bucks. Suri just looks adorable. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of her!

Katie Holmes treated a group of girlfriends to a lavish lunch at the Neiman Marcus store in Beverly Hills last week before splashing out $100,000 on Christmas gifts. The Batman Begins star insisted on paying the $300 lunch bill and then hit the aisles of the top department store to find presents.

According to In Touch Weekly magazine, Holmes, who turned 29 on Tuesday, spent more than $70,000 on her husband Tom Cruise. Some of the gifts the Lions for Lambs star will open on Christmas Day: a $30,000 rose-gold Cartier wristwatch, a black Giorgio Armani suit, Gucci snakeskin sneakers and a Prada ski coat.
