On The Future: “I feel ready for the next chapter of my life. I’m excited to begin a new phase: roles I might have been afraid to play before, places I want to travel to with my daughter. I’d like to build the design business. But not too fast.”

On Balancing Work & Family: “I’m thinking about getting rid of this,” Katie says mischievously, pointing at her cell phone. “Wouldn’t it be great to have an old-fashioned phone sheet? Go to your office, make your calls, and then continue with your day?”

“My daughter was with me the other day at a work event, and it was a long day. I took out some paper and markers that I had in my bag, and someone said to me, ‘Oh, that is so cute,’ and I looked at her and thought, No, this is not cute. This is what all mothers have to do.”

“Being around this business, my daughter is exposed to people with incredible talent, people who are the best at what they do. People I only dreamed of getting to work with as a little girl.”

I think Katie Holmes is stunning. It’s when she talks – or acts that she annoys me. She makes a gorgeous model, I’ll give her that! I can’t even handle watching the trailer for ‘Jack and Jill’, let alone watching the whole movie!

Katie Holmes, who got her start on TV, is going back to her roots with a guest appearance on “How I Met Your Mother”.

Joining a long list of stars (Britney Spears, Martin Short, Enrique Iglesias, Joe Manganiello, Rachel Bilson, Kim Kardashian and John Lithgow) who’ve stopped by the hit CBS series, Holmes will play an integral role in Ted’s search for love this season.

She’ll appear later this season as the Slutty Pumpkin, a character that fans first glimpsed in the first season of the series, when the gang threw a rooftop Halloween party, where Ted bonded with a masked woman whose number he later lost.

“Katie is a lovely and talented actress, which is why we’ve saved for her perhaps the most classily named character in our show’s history,” exec producer Craig Thomas told Vulture, who broke the story. Adding that the part is “literally six seasons in the making.”
