Katherine Heigl poses with her daughter on this beautiful W Magazine cover!

Katherine Heigl lovingly cradles the gorgeous little girl in her arms, wrapped in some white frilly netting.

Heigl adopted Naleigh, who was born in South korea with congenital heart problems that were later corrected through surgery, just ‘three or four days’ before she started work on Life As we Know It.

‘I was about to play a woman who inherits a baby, and I was experiencing the exact same thing,’ she said in an interview with the magazine.

Inside the issue Heigl also poses with more of her family, including mum Nancy and sister Meg.

‘My sister is Korean,’ Katherine said. ‘I hope one day she and Naleigh will be able to talk about what it’s like to be adopted.’

Heigl has talked extensively about her decision to adopt, claiming that she feels it was her destiny to do so.

She says it’s a subject that she broached with her then boyfriend, who later became her husband, musician Josh Kelley, early on in their relation, even before they got engaged.

Explaining that making her plans really clear was key to deciding if they had a future together. ‘Not everybody is down with that,’ she notes. ‘Not everybody thinks that.

‘I just wanted to make sure that I was marrying a guy who understands that this was going to have to happen.’

The couple finalised the adoption of Naleigh in September 2009

‘Life As We Know It’ is great! If you’re into crappy romantic comedies.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, another Katherine Heigl stinker is among us. As if it wasn’t painfully clear from the previews, critic reviews are in, and they put the nail in the coffin. Life As We Know It pretty much sucks.

If Katherine Heigl is worried about her image, maybe picking a good movie for once would be a good place to start. I’ve hated all her recent movies. The Ugly Truth was horrific. Here are some of the reviews on this new trainwreck. Poor Josh Duhamel, Katherine has a touch of the box office poison.

“So anyway, what happens in Life As We Know It? You’ll never guess in a million years. Never.” Roger Ebert

“There’s something about Holly: She’s the most ridiculous, irritating, two-dimensional rom-com heroine since…Katherine Heigl’s last rom-com.” Entertainment Weekly

“Brittle, workaholic and bitterly single does not a Kate Hepburn make, and in this latest screen iteration of The Taming of the Heigl, she doesn’t stray far enough from her standard rom-com shtick.” Time Out New York

“It’s a predictable date-night diversion.” Variety

“Life as We Know It gives bland and predictable a good name.” Boston Globe

“Pity any poor kid stuck in a house like that. Pity, too, anyone who has to stop by for a visit.” The Onion

Katherine Heigl knows everyone hates her.

Katherine Heigl is quite aware that she has an “image problem” (as the NY Times called it).

“It’s something I’ve spent a lot of time in the last year or so really thinking about or really trying to figure out, because, obviously, my career is important to me, and I’m really passionate about trying to keep it.”

“I don’t want to be the person digging my own grave or put myself out there in any way that would sort of hinder this great thing I’ve got going,” Heigl said on L.A.’s KTLA morning show, noting she is very “grateful.”

“I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure out where I kind of went off track and how and why and what I can do in the future to avoid that.

“The reality is, as he says in that article, nothing I said was particularly scandalous. It just had a tone,” she said. “That’s the most important thing I’ve learned as I get older…I can let go of the tone.

“I’ll say what I gotta say and be honest, but maybe not so edgy.”

Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel at the “Life As We Know It” premieres in New York City

I’m really hoping that this movie is going to be good. Katherine Heigl needs it to be good. She’s had a couple bad movies in a row, I’m not sure how many more bad movies her career can take. Sure a good thing you left Grey’s Anatomy, eh Katherine?

If it means anything, she says she is very proud of this movie. “I’m really proud of this movie. It’s probably my favorite film I’ve done to date,” she explained. “It’s just the perfect combination of romance and comedy and heart. I think people want a real story these days, the fantasy, the wish fulfillment is fun and I always love those movies and hope to always get to do them… it was grounded in a lot of humanity, these people are real people.”

Below are pictures of Katherine with costar Josh Duhamel, and husband Josh Kelley.

LOL, his face says it all, doesn’t it?
