Yesterday we got our first look at the cover of March’s W Magazine, the “Spring Fashion Bible”. Kate Moss is the cover girl.

The accompanying interview compares the 38-year-old model to the beautiful Dorian Grey, the protagonist in Oscar Wilde’s renowned novel who sells his soul to stay young while an ageing portrait in his attic reminds him of the effects of his debauched lifestyle.

Author Will Self writes on the magazine’s website: ‘Moss has aged and continues to age—not gracefully, for she’s a suburban hellion from the outer limits of Cockneydom, but beguilingly.

‘I think first of Dorian Gray in Oscar Wilde’s amorality tale, who looks upon the portrait of himself in the fullest fruition of youth and wishes that it would age in his stead.

‘The truth is that (Kate’s) 38, twice married, and the mother of a 9-year-old girl. Her life has been a slalom through the toxicities of fame and success.’

‘Dark Moss and Light Moss. Bad Kate and Good Little Katie—simple dichotomizing is not what this dyad deserves. I look at the pictures of Moss dressed in black and think perhaps they’re of a great beauty meditating upon her own inner ugliness.’

Kate Moss, like a slew of other fashion-obsessed celebrities, is over in France for Paris Fashion Week.  The model was seen in not one, but two fur coats in the last two days.

Kate looks fab, but how long do you think we have to wait for the PETA spokespeople to lash out at her?

Kate Moss has signed on to be the new face of fashion giant Mango!

The British supermodel will appear in the brand’s spring ads, following in the footsteps of Scarlett Johansson, Claudia Schiffer and Penelope Cruz.

A spokesperson for said the always-chic Moss will help the label “become an aspirational brand.”

“Kate Moss was chosen as the image of Mango because she is a world-famous fashion icon, making her one of the most sought-after models in the fashion world,” the spokesperson said.

This will be Moss’s first big ad campaign as a married woman.

The 38 year-old model married Kills’ guitarist Jamie Hince in a country ceremony last summer

The hard-partying model is also a designer, creating collections for British retailer Topshop and luxury goods brand Longchamp.

She recently created a perfume called Lilabelle, named for her nine year-old daughter from her relationship with magazine editor Jefferson Hack.

In 2005, Moss was dropped as the spokesmodel for H&M after photos of her doing cocaine emerged.

Still, Mango seems to love Moss, no matter how bad she used to be.

“She had a turbulent past, which she has put behind her to continue being a supermodel, and has recently married and become a mother,” the spokesperson said. “After two decades appearing on catwalks worldwide, she has demonstrated that she is the top model par excellence.”

On becoming engaged to husband Jamie Hince:

After a romantic trip to Thailand two years into their liaison, Kate recalls, “we were just so loved up, and he asked me to marry him every day.” But it was curling up together in front of the compelling British television documentary series Big Fat Gypsy Weddings that appears to have sealed the deal. “I am so romantic about Gypsies,” Kate explains. “They’re not allowed to do anything until they get married. So they all get married really young, at sixteen. You can’t believe the dresses. They’re like blinging butterflies times ten; they can’t move down the aisle! It’s so genius. I was just watching Jamie, so cute, and I was like, these girls, they just spend their whole life waiting for that day—let’s do it!”

On the wedding-planning pressures:

In the pictures you can feel the love, but off-camera nerves are fragile. The groom-to-be “is terrified,” says Kate. His prospective bride is in denial. “Let’s put it this way,” she says. “If I didn’t have my friends. . . . I don’t know how people do it. I’ve had big birthday parties, and I’ve thrown parties for other people, but this is a completely different thing. It’s the Met Ball! Because you have to look at every piece of cutlery; the details are intense. And then you wake up thinking about the ballet shoes for the girls; is the satin ribbon right? I’ve gone mental. Jamie thinks I’m mad, asking, ‘Are you gonna be all right? After the wedding, I’m hoping you’ll get back to normal!’”

On the wedding tone she tried to set:

“I wanted it to be kind of dreamy and 1920s, when everything is soft-focus,” says Kate. “The Great Gatsby. The code name was GG for a while. That light and that kind of fun decadence. It’s rock-’n’-roll Great Gatsby!” There will be Edwardian marquees in her field and a circus tent for the children, with a miniature drum kit and their own DJ and tepees for them to sleep in. A stage is being built by hand, “which I’m going to keep for festivals for the future,” she explains.

On Kate’s daughter, Lila Grace:

Lila Grace is very much in control as she corrals the other children and then executes some dance moves to entertain them (she has a ballet performance on the weekend). Her mother’s friends laughingly compare her to Absolutely Fabulous’s Saffy, the studious, long-suffering daughter to Kate’s giddy Edina. “Mummy, are you stressed?” she asks solicitously at one point.

On her gorgeous wedding dress:

In the flurry of pre-wedding madness and nerves, the one thing that is keeping Kate sane is the dress. With characteristic loyalty, she has asked her beleaguered friend John Galliano to work on this. “When I put the dress on, I’m really happy,” says Kate. “I forget about everything.” She wanted “a classic Galliano, those chiffon thirties kind. I’ve lived in his dresses for years, and they just make me feel so comfortable. But it’s so much more couture, couture, couture. Oh, my God, the work that’s going into the dress!” They discussed everything on the phone, and then, when John was out of rehab for the first of four marathon fittings, he brought her “bags full of bits, and pulled tulle and sequins and veils and flowers out. And then we just kind of pinned things together, like the old days, you know?”

Supermodel Kate Moss was spotted in Saint-Tropez at Club 55 with her daughter Lila Grace. Later she jokingly pushed a boy off the deck and into the water while making her way to her boat. Here’s to hoping that she knew him personally.
