THEY say they’re not a couple, but Owen Wilson has flown back to Australia to be with fellow Hollywood star Kate Hudson.

The A-list pair was snapped on the Gold Coast yesterday for the first time since reuniting on Valentine’s Day.

But Hollywood’s ‘Mr Nice Guy’ was far from impressed and angrily jostled and swore at the photographer, shocking fans who had waited at Pacific Fair to catch a glimpse of him.

Wilson reportedly flew in from the US for a surprise Valentine’s Day visit and has spent the past few days holed up with Hudson at the Palazzo Versace hotel.

The two met on the set of You, Me and Dupree, and their romance has been the worst kept secret since ‘Brangelina’ – Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – but despite being common fodder for gossip magazines, nobody had photographed the pair together outside of official film engagements.

They were keen to keep it that way yesterday, going to great lengths to avoid being caught in the same frame during a bicycle ride in Southport by riding on opposite sides of the street.

Later in the afternoon, the pair ducked for cover when they spotted lenses outside the Pacific Fair cinema, where a pre-screening of Hudson’s film, Fool’s Gold, was being held for cast and crew members.

The pair walked hand-in-hand to the back door of the cinema but leapt apart and headed for separate doors when they realised a photographer was present.

It is no secret the “You, Me and Dupree” actress has been taking lessons in the raunchy dance, and she has now proclaimed it as one of the best activities in the world.

She told Cosmopolitan magazine: “Every woman when they take this class, and they should, realizes pole-dancing is one of those things you don’t know you’re capable of until you try.”

“You go with a bunch of girls and have the best time. Every person who has ever taken the class walks out with their hair bouncing, gets in their car, puts on music and is like, ‘Wow! I love life!’”

Kate, who split from her Black Crowes rocker husband Chris Robinson this year, insists she has now developed muscles in places she didn’t know she had from regularly gyrating on a pole.

She added: “You can get obsessed with it. Personally, I’ve never been stronger from doing all these tricks. Now, I can climb a pole without using my feet!”

Wow, it’s about friggin time!

Is Owen Wilson ready to pop the question to Kate Hudson? The 38-year-old actor was spotted ring shopping with his mother at the Harry Winston store at the Highland Park Mall in Dallas on Friday.

“They were looking at a huge, pear-shaped, flawless diamond engagement ring,” a witness tells Page Six.

Owen and Hudson fell in love filming You, Me and Dupree last year, and Hudson, 27, soon separated from her hubby of nearly six years, rocker Chris Robinson, 39.

A rep for Wilson confirmed the shopping trip to the New York Post, but insisted, “Owen’s mother was looking for jewelry for herself.”

Hudson, who has a son Ryder, 2, with Robinson, is currently in Australia filming Fool’s Gold with Matthew McConaughey.
