Kate Beckinsale has laughed off reports of a rivalry with Eva Longoria Parker - insisting her fellow actress is too “tiny” to be her competition.

Beckinsale has spent a lot of time with Desperate Housewives star Longoria Parker since moving to Los Angeles, sparking speculation the pair befriended one another to further their acting careers. But the Underworld star insists she doesn’t regard the Texan beauty as a rival - because their dissimilar physiques prevent them from competing for film roles.

She says, “How could Eva and I be up for the same parts? She’s tiny and I’m fascinated by little people. Having said that, I feel like a giant. I’ve always felt a clunky girl. I could ski home on my feet.”

Kate Beckinsale has ruled out having more children - insisting her daughter Lily doesn’t need any siblings.

Beckinsale says her nine-year-old daughter Lily - from her relationship with actor Michael Sheen - is so well behaved, she doesn’t feel the need to add to her brood.

She says, “We’re such a merry little bunch as we are. Maybe I will at some point but I feel I have everything I want.”

“Lily is the perfect child. She is really so much fun and into the same things as me. I am my mom and dad’s only child so I don’t really have the mindset for more children.”

Beckinsale married Underworld director Len Wiseman in 2004.

Kate Beckinsale and Victoria Beckham are playing matchmakers - they want to set their nine-year-old children up.

Beckinsale is not keen on her daughter Lily, nine, experimenting with boys when she is older - but wouldn’t mind if she dated Beckham’s eldest son Brooklyn.

She says, “I am dreading the day Lily brings home a boy. But she and the Beckham boys get on really well. So if she did have to have a boyfriend, then I suppose Brooklyn would get my seal of approval.”

Kate Beckinsale, Lily Allen and the Spice Girls picked up gongs at the Glamour Women of the Year awards on Tuesday night.

The Spice Girls picked up the award for Band Of The Year and Beckinsale won Film Actress Of The Year at a glitzy ceremony in London.

Lily Allen won the Editor’s Special Award, while Kelly Osbourne - who made her West End debut in Chicago - was named Theatre Actress Of The Year.

Ashes to Ashes star Keeley Hawes picked up the gong for Television Actress Of The Year and Dannii Minogue was Television Personality Of The Year.

In music, Annie Lennox received an inspiration award and Beth Ditto was named best international musician/solo artist. Former X Factor winner Leona Lewis was named U.K. Solo Artist.

Mark Ronson - the only non-female to win an award - was crowned man of the year.
