She infamously made her name admonishing Matthew Modine naked from the waist down in Robert Altman’s 1993 movie Short Cuts.
Now, 15 years later, mother-of-two Julianne Moore remains unrepentant about onscreen nudity and looks anything but mumsy in a stunning new photo-shoot.
The 47-year-old scrapes her trademark red locks back for her striking new look as she poses in a series of raunchy black outfits.

In one of the shots for Wonderland magazine, Julianne squats in a provocative pose in a pair of sky-high platform boots, Marc Jacobs trousers and a Wolford body.
In other arty shots, the actress reveals her inner passion as she shouts at the camera.
Aside from her controversial role in Short Cuts, Julianne has also shed her clothes in Boogie Nights and the recent Savage Grace.
But she has no regrets about stripping in front of the camera, and fails to see what all the fuss is about.
She says: ‘People ask all the time if sex scenes and nudity are hard. What’s hard? Not the lines or the physicality, but the emotion.’

Julianne Moore credits her decision to quit smoking for an emotional awakening that has made her a better actress and person.
The Hours star quit 15 years ago and recalls the impact it had on her life.
She tells Parade magazine, “I began to see the most clearly… I was 31 or 32, and I quit smoking. I was so emotional. I had been so unhappy, and I realized that I had just been… literally stuffing it back with those cigarettes in my mouth. I felt like I woke up suddenly.”

Julianne Moore is refusing to cut down on racy movie roles to spare her kids’ feelings - insisting she is happy to be an embarrassing mum.
The star’s latest film, Savage Grace, features a three-in-a-bed love scene, and Moore admits she doesn’t consider her family’s reaction when she accepts a part in a movie.
She says, “I’m aware that my kids will one day see my films and might think they are a bit arch (embarrassing), especially the nude scenes. But, hey, there’s always a point in a kid’s life when they hate their mother.”
Moore is aware that her husband, director Bart Freundlich, is also uncomfortable when she sheds her clothes on camera - but she won’t let his opinion change her work ethic.
She adds, “I like to take risks with my work and had no reservations about taking the role, but my husband definitely did. Frankly, it’s not the sort of role you’d want your wife to appear in.”

Julianne Moore has no plans to stop stripping off for movie roles as she grows older.
The Forgotten star, 47, previously shed her clothes for Robert Altman’s Short Cuts in 1993, but she refuses to rule out more nudity just because of her advancing years.
She says, “I try not to worry about it or think that there’s any limit. But as for actually being comfortable in my own skin, I don’t think anybody is … it’s not possible to feel good about yourself at all times.”

Julianne Moore is baffled as to why women undergo Botox injections, because they make little difference to their appearance.
The Forgotten star, 47, is not a fan of the face-freezing cosmetic treatment.
She says, “I don’t know why women do Botox. It doesn’t make them look younger, it just makes them look like they had work done.
“You are not going to look the same as you did at 25. What are you going to do about it?”
However, Moore admits she understands the pressures of fame, adding: “It’s hard for actresses. Our faces get to be blown up 50 feet wide, and you see stuff that otherwise you wouldn’t. People freak out.”

Julianne Moore has slammed Angelina Jolie and Madonna for deliberately seeking media attention for their humanitarian efforts.
Moore, 47, claims she has made a conscious effort to keep her own political and social activism out of the limelight, and she cannot understand why stars get so much attention from the press for volunteering their time to help others.
She says, “It’s definitely the ‘to whom much is given’ thing. And we have a tremendous amount of privilege. But, at the same time, I don’t know why so much emphasis is placed on celebrities who volunteer. Most people do things in their daily lives. It’s just normal.”
Moore currently sits on the board of pro-choice organization Planned Parenthood and works in support of Save the Children.
