Kiefer Sutherland has finally forgiven actress Julia Roberts for running off days before their wedding in 1991 with his best friend Jason Patric. The Hollywood hardman was devastated when the actress left him for Patric, but now sees that it was all the best.
He says, “I commend Julia for seeing how young and silly we were, even as painful and difficult as it was.”
However, Sutherland isn’t ready to forgive his old friend and Lost Boys co-star Patric yet, adding: “We were friends. I never got a call.”
Julia Roberts is determined to be a green mother by the time she gives birth to her third child this summer (07) - the home she’s moving into will be a solar-powered eco-friendly place.
The environmentally-sound star is fixing up her new $20 million Malibu, California mansion with the latest state-of-the art green gizmos and gadgets.
As well as being solar-powered, a family friend tells Life + Style magazine the new place will be built with wood from “sustainably managed forests”. The source adds, “Even the bathrooms will have recycled tiles.”
Once she’s done with the house, Julia plans to turn her focus to fuel: “I have a hybrid car, but I want something that runs on vegetable oil. I think it’s a small price to pay to smell like a French fry.”
Julia Roberts out and about in Hollywood with her twins, daughter Hazel and son Phinnaeus.Julia, 39, and hubby Danny Moder, 37, are expecting their third child, due in the summer.

Hollywood actress Daryl Hannah is overjoyed she turned down the role in Pretty Woman made famous by Julia Roberts because she now thinks of it as “degrading for the whole of womankind“. The Kill Bill star declined the part of prostitute Vivian Ward in the 1990 movie - which shot Roberts to fame - because she disliked the tone, as did Meg Ryan and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Hannah says, “One of the things I’m most proud of is refusing to take Julia’s role. Every time I see it I like it less and less. They sold it as a romantic fairytale when in fact it’s a story about a prostitute who becomes a lady by being kept by a rich and powerful man. I think that film is degrading for the whole of womankind.”
