Hot couple Helena Christensen and Josh Hartnett have called it quits after almost a year of dating, according to friends.

Their split came “within the last week,” according to sources.

The couple were last seen furniture shopping together, mid-February, at Vitra in the Meatpacking District. But it was a man-free zone when we saw Christensen dining with a girlfriend at the Waverly Inn on Tuesday.

The iconic supermodel and the 30 Days of Night star had been friends for years before taking it to the next level in late spring 2007. Friends say the Danish delight tried to set Josh up with Rosario Dawson, and he boldly told Helena he’d rather date her.

The two were first spotted out as a couple at the T in the Park music festival in the U.K. last July and had been an item ever since.

Reps for the pair did not comment.

While in Paris on Monday, the pop singer, Rihanna declared that she is single and she never said the now famous quote about her and Josh Hartnett dating.

“That is completely incorrect. People quote me on things that I never said. That quote is not a real quote. It’s not right at all.”

Rihanna claims that someone fabricated and made up that quote and put her name on it for their own personal gain. The quote in question is: “I would be lying if I told you [Josh and I] were not more than just friends. I have so fallen for him, he is lovely. He is so hot and he is really sweet to me. When we hang out it feels right - even though it’s still pretty new.”

So what do you think? Was she “misquoted”, didn’t say that at all, or back pedaling?

Ladies’ man Josh Hartnett has struck again!

After romancing Scarlett Johansson and Helena Christensen, Hartnett, 29, was spotted locking lips with the “Umbrella” singer, 19, last night at NYC club Pink Elephant, a witness tells Usmagazine.com.

A source says the couple — who lunched about three weeks ago in L.A. — met up after her Thursday night concert at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square.

The duo, who were sipping Dom Perignon and Pink vodka throughout the night, “didn’t come together, but left together,” the witness adds.

Josh Hartnett snuck away with his new gal, Penelope Cruz, for a spring fling vacation. The two were spotted canoodling at the Parrot Cay private island resort in the Caribbean’s Turks and Caicos last week. It wasn’t a completely private love nest, however - cozy couple Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, who were staying at Bruce Willis‘ house on the island, were spotted locking lips in the resort’s restaurant.
