Well, ladies and gentlemen, another Katherine Heigl stinker is among us. As if it wasn’t painfully clear from the previews, critic reviews are in, and they put the nail in the coffin. Life As We Know It pretty much sucks.
If Katherine Heigl is worried about her image, maybe picking a good movie for once would be a good place to start. I’ve hated all her recent movies. The Ugly Truth was horrific. Here are some of the reviews on this new trainwreck. Poor Josh Duhamel, Katherine has a touch of the box office poison.
“So anyway, what happens in Life As We Know It? You’ll never guess in a million years. Never.” Roger Ebert
“There’s something about Holly: She’s the most ridiculous, irritating, two-dimensional rom-com heroine since…Katherine Heigl’s last rom-com.” Entertainment Weekly
“Brittle, workaholic and bitterly single does not a Kate Hepburn make, and in this latest screen iteration of The Taming of the Heigl, she doesn’t stray far enough from her standard rom-com shtick.” Time Out New York
“It’s a predictable date-night diversion.” Variety
“Life as We Know It gives bland and predictable a good name.” Boston Globe
“Pity any poor kid stuck in a house like that. Pity, too, anyone who has to stop by for a visit.” The Onion
I’m really hoping that this movie is going to be good. Katherine Heigl needs it to be good. She’s had a couple bad movies in a row, I’m not sure how many more bad movies her career can take. Sure a good thing you left Grey’s Anatomy, eh Katherine?
If it means anything, she says she is very proud of this movie. “I’m really proud of this movie. It’s probably my favorite film I’ve done to date,” she explained. “It’s just the perfect combination of romance and comedy and heart. I think people want a real story these days, the fantasy, the wish fulfillment is fun and I always love those movies and hope to always get to do them… it was grounded in a lot of humanity, these people are real people.”
Below are pictures of Katherine with costar Josh Duhamel, and husband Josh Kelley.
Black Eyed Peas singerFergie shows off her charitable side in Santa Barbara, CA this weekend when she and husband Josh Duhamel participated in the Avon Breast Cancer Walk. The athletic Fergie looked happy to help as she walked, talked and more importantly made money for the important cause.
The official trailer for Katie Holmes new movie The Romantics has been released! The movie, which also stars True Blood actress Anna Paquin, and Josh Duhamel will be released on September 10th!
Over the course of one raucous night at a seaside wedding seven close friends, all members of a tight, eclectic college clique, reconvene to watch two of their own tie the knot. Laura (Katie Holmes) is maid of honor to Lila (Anna Paquin), her golden girl best friend. The two have long rivaled over the groom, Tom (Josh Duhamel). Friendships and alliances are tested and the love triangle comes to a head the night before the wedding, when the drunken friends frolic in the nearby surf and return to shore… without the groom. Based on the heralded novel by producer, novelist, director Galt Niederhoffer, THE ROMANTICS is a Zeitgeist love story and generational comedy that breathes new life into the genre and recaptures the camaraderie of youth.
I can’t wait! I think this looks great, which is saying a lot, since I don’t usually like anything Katie Holmes does.
Josh Duhamel, Shia LaBeouf, and Tyrese Gibson film dangerous and explosive action scenes for Transformers 3 in Chicago, IL today. Hopefully Transformers 3 is better than the 2nd. The 2nd one suuuuucked.
This movie actually looks pretty cute, which for Katherine Heigl is saying a lot. She’s been on my sh*t list, ever since she started talking crap about Grey’s Anatomy back in 2008. She just came off like a spoiled actress. Then came the unbelievably awful The Ugly Truth costarring the unfunny Gerard Butler. Next up is her new film The Killers with the overrated Ashton Kutcher, and I only have to watch the trailer to know the movie is terrible. So I’m hoping this new movie with Josh Duhamel (whom I love, if you don’t believe all that stripper drama) will finally be a good move on her part. It looks cute, though I can tell you I’m sick and tired of the poopy-diaper scene. The only movie to get it right was Three Men and a Baby back in the 80′s (watch it below). Ever since then, it just gets old!
Holly Berenson (Katherine Heigl) is an up-and-coming caterer and Eric Messer (Josh Duhamel) is a promising network sports director. After a disastrous first date, the only thing they have in common is their dislike for each other and their love for their goddaughter, Sophie. But when they suddenly become all Sophie has in the world, Holly and Messer are forced to put their differences aside. Juggling career ambitions and competing social calendars, they’ll have to find some common ground while living under one roof.
