The Jonas Brothers have canceled their upcoming 19-date tour – just two days before they were set to begin. Why? The brothers, Nick, 21, Joe, 24 and Kevin, 25 – are not doing so hot.
“There is a deep rift within the band,” their spokesman, Jesse Derris, tells Us. “There was a big a disagreement over their music direction.”
The New Jersey natives formed their band in 2005 and first broke out when they signed with Hollywood Records in 2007. Since then, the Grammy-nominated pop rock band has released five studio albums, and have recently released new singles “Pom Poms” and “First Time.”
The trio have stuck together over the past several years, while simultaneously working on other projects and hitting personal milestones. Nick and Joe have released solo albums, as Nick also made his Broadway debut in the 2011 production of Hairspray. Kevin and his wife Danielle have starred in the E! series Married to Jonas since 2012, and announced in late July that they were expecting their first child — a girl.
As for whether or not the brothers will ever take the stage again together? Their rep tells Us the band’s future “remains to be seen.”
Who would have thunk it? Trouble in paradise? If you ask me, they’re just doing their fans a favor. Who still likes the Jonas Brothers?
