After jetting off to Saint-Tropez with new girlfriend Hailey Glassman and spending time on the yacht of clothing designer Christian Audigier, a solo Jon Gosselin arrived back home in Pennsylvania on Wednesday for a joyful reunion with his kids. Clearly excited, several of the Gosselin’s eight children surround their father in the driveway, shouting, “Daddy, Daddy.”

While Gosselin’s children were tended to by their nanny, Jon’s estranged wife Kate was apparently not at home. Later, the reality star can be seen stepping outside their house, where a friend had dropped off a motorcycle. Jon then takes the bike for a test drive.

Later in the afternoon, with all of the kids inside, Jon walked around the vast yard in front and in back of the house, spending most of his time chatting on his cell phone.

While in the South of France, Gosselin, 32, happily posed for pictures with Glassman, 22, and even contemplated collaborating on a clothing lines with Audigier, the designer behind the Ed Hardy brand. But even on vacation, Gosselin told PEOPLE, he was always thinking of his family. “Every 10 minutes I keep thinking about the kids and missing them,” he said.

“Mady keeps calling me and asking me if I’m in France, but she doesn’t understand where France is,” he continued. “I’m really looking forward to seeing them again in a few days.”

As ex Jon Gosselin celebrates his single status in France with 22-year-old girlfriend Hailey Glassman, Kate Gosselin is sticking to her everyday routine in Wernersville, Pa.

On Tuesday, she left their eight kids at their $1.1 million home to run errands.

Wearing a floppy hat and sunglasses, Kate stopped by a UPS Store (she was spotted toting the children’s magazine Highlights) and later picked up gas. Tellingly, she also was wearing her wedding ring (Kate has said she was “not fond of” the idea of separating).

Kate has been looking after their eight kids ever since Jon took his trip to France with Hailey Glassman last week. Over the weekend – while Jon and Hailey smoked cigarettes and chilled on Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier’s yacht – Kate went grocery shopping and had a picnic with the kids.

Jon is expected to return from France today. Filming of their hit TLC show Jon & Kate Plus 8 resumes Aug. 3. It remains to be seen whether Hailey will be a part of the show.

A source tells Us Hailey didn’t go out with Jon Monday night in France because she was “upset” over the negative press.

Jon Gosselin’s new 22-year-old girlfriend Hailey Glassman stayed in Monday night while visiting St. Tropez, France, with the 32-year-old father of eight because she was so upset with the bad press she’s been receiving.

“U.S. press is all over stories about her being some slutty party girl with a history of arrests,” a source tells Usmagazine.com of Glassman, who was arrested in 2005 for marijuana possession (see her mug shot). “She was upset tonight.”

She didn’t seem too upset earlier in the day, as she and Jon shopped at a Gucci boutique and grabbed lunch together. They were also spotted lighting each other’s cigarettes while sightseeing.

The two are expected to return home today.

Despite previous reports, Jon and Hailey are not collaborating with Ed Hardy fashion designer Christian Audigier on a children’s clothing line.

“Christian is absolutely not starting a kids’ clothing line with Jon,” a rep for Audigier told Us Monday. “As of right now, there is no clothing line in the works between them at all.”

Jon & Kate Plus 8 ratings plummeted 77 percent last Monday.

Only 2.4 million viewers tuned in — significantly down from June 22′s much-hyped divorce announcement episode, which was watched by a record 10.6 million.

(In comparison, the show’s season 5 debut attracted 9.8 million watchers.)

Monday’s episode, titled “The First 10 Years,” consisted mostly of old clips. The show is now on hiatus until Aug. 3 to give the family “some time to regroup,” the network said in a statement.

Kate plans to continue taping the reality hit. After announcing her divorce to TV cameras, she said through tears: “The show must go on!”

The Gosselins released a statement Tuesday saying they would no longer speak to the press.

“Our goal is to do the very best for our children and that will be done as privately as possible,” the Gosselins wrote on TLC’s Web site. “We appreciate the understanding, support and well wishes from so many.”

One week after filing divorce papers, Jon and Kate Gosselin are speaking out again.

“During this very difficult time we will be working to focus solely on the needs of our family. This includes no longer commenting publicly or reacting to media stories and speculation,” the Gosselins said — in a public statement released on the Web site of TLC, which airs Jon & Kate Plus 8.

“Our goal is to do the very best for our children and that will be done as privately as possible,” the statement continued. “We appreciate the understanding, support and well wishes from so many.”

On Tuesday, TLC announced it was putting the Gosselins’ reality hit on hiatus until Aug. 3. Kate, however, has said she won’t quit the series, declaring, “The show must go on!”

Last week, Kate sported a bright blue bikini — but hid her famous reverse mullet under a hat — in the driveway of her $1.1-million Pennsylvania home. She and Jon take turns living in the estate while sharing custody of the kids.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 won’t be getting a new addition.

A TLC spokesperson is shooting down a New York Daily News report that Jon’s former fling, 23-year-old school teacher, will be featured on the show. “Deanna’s role isn’t expected to be big, but because she’s part of Jon’s life, she’ll be filmed,” an insider told the paper.

But a network rep tells Entertainment Tonight, “There are no plans to use her.”

In an interview with The New York Times, TLC president Eileen O’Neill addressed the network’s decision to stop airing the show until Aug. 3 in light of the couple’s split.

“It’s hard to walk away from a big number,” O’Neill said, referring to Monday’s record 10.6 million viewers. “But it really made sense so that everyone could adjust to the new circumstances.”

“Once we understood that they were going to make an announcement [regarding their split], we discussed various scenarios with them,” she said. “We really collaborated on what would make sense for the family.”

Asked whether there was a chance the show could be postponed further, she said she was “very confident” in the August return date.

Could the show be canceled?

“That’s not in anyone’s mind,” O’Neill said, adding that she did not have a “hard date” for when the Gosselins plan to resume filming.

Asked how the show will change, she said, “We anticipate that the focus will remain on the parent-child relationship.”

But “dual couch conversations” — featuring Jon and Kate answering questions from a producer — “are not anticipated,” she said.

Despite an announcement that divorce proceedings have begun, “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ matriarch Kate Gosselin is still wearing her wedding ring because taking it off would devastate her children.

Kate Gosselin explained to People magazine in an exclusive interview that it was her husband of 10 years, Jon Gosselin, who asked for the divorce.

“I curled up in a ball and I sobbed. I couldn’t breathe; I was hyperventilating. I was scaring people who were calling to check on me because I couldn’t even talk,” she told the entertainment magazine.

In a confessional during Monday’s night’s episode of “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” she said she didn’t want to raise her children as a single parent.

“I don’t really want to be alone. I don’t want to do this alone,” she said.

Gosselin said her husband wanted to split for a long time before he told her he hired a lawyer and advised her to do the same. She said it’s a step she would have never taken on her own.

People magazine deputy managing editor Peter Castro told “Good Morning America” that the situation is “the portrait of an American family crumbling.”

“They don’t hate each other,” he said, but “[Jon] did not want any part of counseling; he wanted out of this marriage.”

“It’s real reality television,” he said.

The Gosselins admitted on Monday night’s episode that they had been living increasingly separate lives for the past two years, and Kate Gosselin said the breaking point in the marriage was not a result of the show or tabloid scrutiny.

“I believe it is a chapter that would have probably would have played out had the world been watching or not,” Kate Gosselin said.
