Johnny Depp stars in the fourth installment of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ series, this one ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.’ Joining him is Penelope Cruz, who plays the eccentric Jack’s love interest.
The movie is set to be released May 20th of next year.
PS: It will be strange to see a Pirates movie without Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley! I’m sure Johnny Depp can handle the movie on his own, I’ll just miss the other two!
Depp and Cruz have plenty of chemistry. They starred together in 2001′s ‘Blow’. They are definitely convincing as a couple! (Not like he and Angelina Jolie is ‘The Tourist’)

Even if you’re close to Johnny Depp, don’t expect to whip out your cell phone and give him a call. The actor revealed that he maintains a low profile and doesn’t care for cell phones.
During his promotional duties for The Tourist, he revealed, “We have internet and stuff like that because I think that’s the safest form, well, most interesting form of communication. I just don’t like phones. I just don’t like them….being reachable all the time.”
When asked how he could be reached, he replied, “You’d have to, you know, to just buzz me on the internet or something.”
One person who the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise star might take a call from is his dentist. Johnny was still sporting his Jack Sparrow teeth on the red carpet on Monday night.
“You still got the [‘Pirates’] teeth in, how long are they going to be in?” Tony asked.
“Just until I can find a dentist to rip them out, essentially,” he explained. “They sort of have to be yeah, yanked out… we just literally finished like, you know, last week.”

According to Johnny Depp, he doesn’t really need a marriage certificate to know that he has found love with girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis!
In a recent interview, the actor talks about his relationship of twelve years with Vaness. He said that the reason he hasn’t gotten married is because “I’d be so scared of ruining her last name. She’s got such a good last name.
The three-time Oscar nominee, whose thriller The Tourist with Angelina Jolie hits theaters next Friday, adds he already feels as if he’s wed to the French model/actress, 37.
“I never found myself needing that piece of paper,” he says. “Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don’t need somebody to say, okay you’re married.”
That being said, Depp admits he’d be willing to take the plunge, “if Vanessa wanted to get hitched.”
For now, the twosome are looking forward to spending the holidays relaxing with their kids Lily-Rose, 11, and Jack, 8.
On the agenda: “Sleeping, sleeping and playing with a lot of toys with my son,” says the actor. “Hanging out with the kiddies.”

Johnny Depp’s flamboyant portrayal of Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean” was good enough for an Oscar nomination, but the actor says Disney was less than thrilled.
Depp talked about it in an interview with rocker Patti Smith for the January edition of Vanity Fair magazine. Depp said Disney “couldn’t stand” his Sparrow and one person there even asked if Sparrow was gay. Depp told the Disney executive “all my characters are gay,” and he said that “really made her nervous.”
Depp’s next role is in the movie “The Tourist” with Angelina Jolie. It opens Dec. 10. Here is part of his interview with Vanity Fair.
On meeting Angelina Jolie:
‘Meeting her and getting to know her was a real pleasant surprise,’ Johnny Depp tells rock legend Patti Smith, writing for Vanity Fair, of working with Angelina Jolie on their upcoming film, The Tourist. ‘You don’t know what she might be like; if she has any sense of humor at all. I was so pleased to find that she is incredibly normal, and has a wonderfully kind of dark, perverse sense of humor.’
On the challenges he and his co-star faced with constant media scrutiny on set:
‘Poor thing, dogged by paparazzi, her and her husband, Brad…all their kids. There are times when you see how ridiculous is this life, how ludicrous it is, you know, leaving your house every morning and being followed by paparazzi.’
On the difficulties that arose while filming together/ having to be discreet to avoid unwarranted speculation:
‘[We had] to hide, sometimes not even being able to talk to each other in public because someone will take a photograph and it will be misconstrued and turned into some other ****.’
On how Disney hated his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow:
‘They couldn’t stand him. They just couldn’t stand him,’ Depp says of Disney’s reaction to his controversial interpretation of Sparrow. ‘I think it was Michael Eisner, the head of Disney at the time, who was quoted as saying, ‘He’s ruining the movie.”
MORE INTERVIEW – AND ANOTHER PIC AFTER THE JUMP! (more…)

Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. Between them, they’ve made 70 films. They own homes within an hour of each other in the south of France. And they both live with actors, which you’d think would expand their A-list circles further. But it wasn’t until last November that the costars of The Tourist actually met. “We’re both not that social,” says Jolie. “I don’t think either one of us goes out of our house, especially in France. We’re both locked away.” Adds Depp: “So much has been written about Angie and Brad. They’re sort of the Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton of our era. I knew she was a big star, but I didn’t know what to expect…”

We take for granted that if two movie stars are big enough—and beautiful enough—they will have instant chemistry on screen. And when the PG-13 romantic thriller hits theaters on Dec. 10, the world will find out whether Depp and Jolie—arguably the biggest male and female stars on the planet—will have that indefinable spark. Until then, though, there’s a story worth sharing. The story of how Angie met Johnny.
Just as The Tourist seemed headed for the turnaround graveyard, Jolie was in New York wrapping the stunt-heavy Salt. She remembers being black-and-blue and exhausted. “I wanted to do something that would be a great vacation for my kids,” she says. “I got a phone call saying, ‘Okay, the film’s shooting in Venice,’ and I said, ‘I don’t know what it is, but I’m going to say yes.’ ”
