Johnny Depp’s 7-year-old daughter, Lily-Rose, is on the mend after a 9-day stay at a British hospital where she was battling an undisclosed illness. She left the hospital with her family at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
“We are happy to report that their daughter is doing much better,” Depp’s rep tells Us. “The family greatly appreciates the continued support and respect of their privacy.”
According to the U.K. publication The Sun, Depp, 43, and his partner Vanessa Paradis, 34, had been holding vigil for their daughter since she checked into the hospital a week and a half ago in “serious condition.”
The Pirates of the Caribbean star — who lives in France with Lily-Rose, Vanessa, and their four-year-old son Jack — was due to start filming Sweeney Todd in England when his daughter fell ill.
A hospital source tells The Sun: “They are worried sick — but Lily-Rose is getting the very best treatment available.”
“Johnny is deeply concerned about his daughter,” a studio source added. “As soon as he heard that she is unwell he went to her bedside. He will do anything for his kids.”
To protect the family’s privacy, publications are being asked not to publish the nature of the illness or the location of the hospital.

Johnny Depp is terrifying his longterm partner Vanessa Paradis by going to extreme lengths to get into his new role as Demon Barber Sweeney Todd.
Depp starts rehearsals for the film adaptation of Stephen’s Sondheim musical in London next month, but he’s preparing for the part already by slitting imaginary throats to the soundtrack of Dies Irae (Day of Wrath) - the 13th century Latin Hymn traditionally used in the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Express, “Johnny is always very conscientious in his roles. Now he says he has to get into the mind set of a serial killer. He wants to feel adept with the razor blades, to feel as if they were an extension of his arm.
“But he’s terrifying everyone by walking around his home booming out the song - making an arc with his arm when he slits a person’s throat. “Sweeney calls his razors his ‘friends’ and in this song the Demon Barber pours out his love to his blades.”

The scurvy dogs and scalawags of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest plundered a bigger than whopping $132 million from Friday to Sunday to sail away with the record for best three-day opening of all time.
Disney’s theme-park-ride inspired sequel made previous champ Spider-Man ($114.8 million in its first three days in 2002) walk the plank.
Johnny Depp’s high-seas adventure cut a wide swath through the record books. Aside from the vaunted opening-weekend record, Dead Man’s Chest became the first film to loot more than $100 million in just two days. And Friday’s $55.5 million first-day booty was the best ever, surpassing the $50 million Thursday opening day gross last year for Star Wars: Episode III–Revenge of the Sith.
Finally, the sequel became the 51st Disney film to reach that milestone, something no other studio has achieved.
