Johnny Depp has no plans to marry Vanessa Paradis

Johnny Depp & Vanessa Paradis

Johnny Depp’s publicist has been forced to speak out to quash new reports alleging the actor and his longtime partner Vanessa Paradis have married.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star was rumored to be planning to wed Paradis at Sandra Bullock’s Georgia home earlier this month, but Depp’s representative shot down those claims, insisting they were false.

New rumors arose this week, alleging Depp and Paradis were to exchange nuptials in Kentucky.

But Depp’s spokesperson has again had to move fast to nix those reports, telling Usmagazine.com the claims are “not true”.

The representative adds: “There is no wedding.”

Johnny Depp sends his hat to a fan, as promised

Johnny Depp

The next time Jack Taylor takes his hat off to Johnny Depp, it actually will be Depp’s hat.

The 12-year-old southside resident received a package in the mail Thursday from Depp’s production company, Infinitum Nihil, containing a variety of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” promotional gifts along with a vintage fedora Depp told Taylor he could have when the “Public Enemies” star was in town in April for filming.

“All I really said was ‘Can I have your hat?’,” Taylor, who will start seventh grade at Grace Lutheran Church this fall, said. “And he said ‘When I’m done with it, it’s yours.’ He was actually pretty cool.”

It took a little more work than that to get Taylor’s promise fulfilled, though. His parents, Kris and Matt Brand, tracked down Depp’s agent, who turned out to be his sister, and told her about what happened. Depp’s agent pulled enough merchandise to ensure Taylor and his siblings, Anthony Taylor, 13, Alexis Taylor, 6, Emily Brand, 3, and Abigail Brand, 1, each got a little something from what ranks as one of their favorite Depp movies along with “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

“It’s not exactly the easiest thing to make all five kids happy, but they did a good job. It’s finally nice to see a celebrity being nice and following through on his promises,” Kris Brand said. “He promised Jack his hat and he followed through. It’s really cool.”

Jack’s new hat, a well-worn fedora that’s vintage in appearance, wasn’t the only personal item enclosed with the package. Depp also wrote Jack a short, personal note telling him to enjoy the hat and the cool “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” stuff and signed it himself.

“It was pretty awesome when it came,” he said. “I didn’t think it actually would come.”

To show his appreciation, Jack penned a letter of his own to send to Depp, though the first draft has been refined a few times with the help of his parents. And his new prized possession will definitely get shown during the summer and at school.

“Nobody believed me at first when I told them about meeting him,” Jack said. “It’s pretty awesome.”

No June wedding for Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp

Once again, the internet is rife with rumors that actor Johnny Depp is set to wed long-time girlfriend, French actress Vanessa Paradis. This time, reports say that the camera-friendly couple are planning to tie the knot at the house of actress Sandra Bullock on quiet Tybee Island, near Savannah, GA.

However, like all the previous wedding rumors surrounding Johnny and Vanessa, this appears to be just wishful thinking. “There is no truth to these rumors,” Depp’s publicist Robin Baum tells OK!.

The couple, who began their relationship in 1998, when Johnny was filming The Ninth Gate in Paris, have two children, a daughter Lily-Rose, 9, and a 6-year-old son, Jack. Before his rise to stardom, Depp had been married to makeup artist Lori Anne Allison for three years.

Johnny Depp wins big at the MTV Movie Awards

Johnny Depp

In a night where the MTV voters seemed to try their best to be as diverse as possible in their annual Movie Award winners, only one star of the silver screen appeared to be a unanimous fan favorite — Johnny Depp, who managed to win honors in both the Best Comedic Performance and the Best Villain categories.

“I’m not a very funny person,” the actor, who could barely be heard over the screams of the audience, claimed while accepting his Best Comedic Performance award for his now-iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in last summer’s mega-hit Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. “Not even remotely funny.”

Looking dashingly handsome and clean-cut, Depp, who turns 45 on June 9, was called upon later in the evening to make a repeat trip to the stage when his title role in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street was awarded in the Best Villain category.

Oddly enough, though Johnny won both of these categories, it was Will Smith who voters rewarded with the Best Male Performance award for his role in I Am Legend. Joined onstage by his son Jaden, Will remembered having been at the 1988 MTV Movie Awards — except… the annual ceremony didn’t begin until 1992.

For Juno star Ellen Page, who walked away from both the Oscars and Golden Globes empty-handed, she appeared to be somewhat consoled by her win in the Best Female Performance category.

Zac Efron, who was in the audience with on-off girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, managed to thank everyone but his gal-pal during his acceptance speech for Best Breakthrough Performance in Hairspray.

Tom Cruise got down on one knee to present the Generation Award to goofball Adam Sandler, who then launched into a self-aggrandizing version of “Nobody Does It Better,” after which he announced, “This is the most arrogant thing I’ve ever done.”

Of course, what are the MTV Movie Awards without the oddball categories that give the ceremony its unique flavor? There was Best Kiss, presented to Step Up 2: The Streets’ Briana Evigan and Robert Hoffman by an almost naked Rainn Wilson (thank God for strategically placed teddy bears!) and Megan Fox. And Best Fight, awarded to Never Back Down’s Sean Faris and Cam Gigandet.

And one of the evening’s biggest controversies came during the presentation of the Best Summer Movie So Far category, as Seth Rogen and James Franco whipped out a “pretend” baggie of marijuana and smoked a “fake” joint — “This certainly isn’t good sh–,” Franco told the audience after taking a puff — before presenting the award to Iron Man. However, since the cameras pulled as far away as possible from the podium during this presentation, it was hard to tell exactly what was going on onstage.
