People Magazine: Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis leading “sad, separate lives”

Once a break-up hits the cover of People Magazine, I’m much more inclined to believe it. After weeks of rumors, it looks like there may be some truth to the fact that Johnny Depp and his longtime partner Vanessa Paradis are breaking up. The couple have been together for 14 years, and have two children together.

Once upon a time, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis lived a quiet family life far from the spotlight in the sleepy French hamlet of Plan-de-la-Tour.

But that time is no more, and now the couple largely reside in L.A. – when they are in the same city at all.

Depp, 48, and Paradis, 39, who are parents to Lily-Rose, 12, and Jack, 9, have not appeared side-by-side on a red carpet for more than a year. Multiple sources tell PEOPLE in this week’s cover story that the relationship is all but officially finished.

In fact, some in their circle say the couple of nearly 14 years have already split. Says one insider: “It’s so sad.”

I hope this isn’t true. I’ve always loved them as a couple. I like how laid back and private they are. That seems like the key to a successful Hollywood marriage. Maybe this is all just gossip and there’s no truth to it.

Speaking of gossip, there are spies that told the Enquirer that Johnny Depp and Eva Green got too cozy during the filming of Dark Shadows. Also – apparently Angelina Jolie has “reached out” to help her ol’ bud Johnny. According to Now Magazine, “They stayed in touch after The Tourist. When she heard what was going on she reached out to him to see how he was coping and urged him to work it out.”

Johnny Depp to play Michael Jackson in biopic

Johnny Depp has been tipped as the hot favorite to play Michael Jackson in a biopic about the life of the King of Pop.

Other contenders include Usher, Zac Efron, Will Smith or Justin Timberlake.

The director will have his hands full trying to cast the right person with a source revealing: “It’s going to be one mammoth task trying to get someone good enough at acting and dancing to fill Michael Jackson’s moon-walking shoes. They will need someone with edge, with uniqueness about them.”

Ghostbuster director Ivan Reitman and Up In The Air producer Tom Pollock are currently in talks regarding the project.

Who do you think should be cast as Michael Jackson?

Amber Heard oozes sex at the ‘Rum Diary’ UK premiere

Amber Heard certainly knows how to work her assets, doesn’t she. Of course you and I would work it too – if we looked like that – so go for it!

Sorry men, Amber’s into the ladies.

Here is Amber at the UK premiere of her new movie ‘Rum Diary’ wearing a dress by Alessandra Rich. It looks absolutely incredible on her. It makes her body look ridiculous! She looks incredibly sexy! (Rumors have it she is being considered to play Grace Kelly in an upcoming bio pic!)

Also pictured: Johnny Depp (But who wants to look at pictures of him, when you can look at pictures of her!)

Johnny Depp Inspires Specialty Rum Cocktail

Johnny Depp‘s characters definitely love their rum, from Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean to The Rum Diary which opens tomorrow. His upcoming film is based on the novel by Hunter S. Thompson about a journalist that moves to Puerto Rico and indulges in a number of alcohol-infused adventures. Now Brugal Rum has created the “Caribbean Kiss” drink in honor of Depp’s rum loving roles. If you want to try it for yourself, take a gander at the recipe below:

Caribbean Kiss

1.5 oz. Brugal Añejo Rum
.5 oz. Amaretto
1 oz. Simple Syrup
1 oz. Pineapple Juice

In a shaker with ice, combine ingredients, shake well and strain into a martini glass.  Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Johnny Depp releases apology over rape comment in Vanity Fair

Yesterday Vanity Fair released a small excerpt from their upcoming Johnny Depp cover article.

In the clip, the actor made a comment he’s apologizing for this morning, where he compared being in photo shoots to being raped.

“Well, you just feel like you’re being raped somehow. Raped … It feels like a kind of weird — just weird, man… whenever you have a photo shoot or something like that, it’s like — you just feel dumb. It’s just so stupid.”

The statement immediately caused an internet storm, drawing criticism from many people. This morning, Johnny offered up an apology.

“I am truly sorry for offending anyone in any way. I never meant to. It was a poor choice of words on my part in an effort to explain a feeling,” Depp said in the statement. “I understand there is no comparison and I am very regretful. In an effort to correct my lack of judgment, please accept my heartfelt apology.”

Depp will star in this fall’s “The Rum Diaries.”

Do you think Johnny owed an apology?

Johnny Depp’s true ‘Dark Shadows’ vampire revealed!

Entertainment Weekly has just posted the first official look at the new Tim Burton/Johnny Depp film, ‘Dark Shadows’. The film stars Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley, Jonny Lee Miller, Bella Heathcote, Chloe Moretz and Gulliver McGrath.

Here’s the movie description:

In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet—or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Brouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive.

Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has called upon live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter), to help with her family troubles.

Also residing in the manor is Elizabeth’s ne’er-do-well brother, Roger Collins (Jonny Lee Miller); her rebellious teenage daughter Carolyn Stoddard (Chloe Moretz); and Roger’s precocious 10-year-old son, David Collins (Gulliver McGrath). The mystery extends beyond the family, to caretaker Willie Loomis, played by Jackie Earle Haley, and David’s new nanny, Victoria Winters, played by Bella Heathcote.

FIRST LOOK! Johnny Depp as a vampire in ‘Dark Shadows’

Too Fab has the first look at Johnny Depp on the set of the “Dark Shadows” film adaptation today … and he’s looking seriously supernatural. (That’s not the picture above – you gotta click below to see him!)

Depp was seen in full costume and makeup as Barnabas Collins Tuesday in the UK, sporting a fedora, cane and an extremely white face.

Barnabas was played by Jonathan Frid (inset) in the original TV show, which ran from 1966-1971.

The film once again re-teams Depp with frequent collaborator Tim Burton — who must really love seeing Johnny with pale skin. See: “Edward Scissorhands,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Edward Scissorhands” and “Sweeney Todd.”

“Shadows” will co-star Helena Bonham-Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Chloe Moretz and Jackie Earle Haley and is slated for a May 2012 release.
