Looks like Nicole Richie had to be convinced to marry husband and father of her kids, Joel Madden!

In an interview, musician Joel Madden recently revealed that wife Nicole Richie was not too keen on marriage or Joel stepping the relationship up a notch. He says,  “my wife is pretty good at rejecting me…people don’t know this. But I asked her to marry me 10 times before she actually said yes — I was asking every other Tuesday.”

Tough! Joel finally got her  because he wanted the two of them to be married for their children, and for the future of their family.  And I guess his persistence paid off:  the couple have been happily married with two children, Harlow and Sparrow, since 2010.

The 32-year-old husband of Nicole Richie reportedly sang one of his hit songs, I Don’t Wanna Be In Love while teen girls screaming hysterically.

I’m sure Joel was happy to know that’s he;s still got it!

Nicole Richie makes the most of her trip to Paris. While in France for Paris Fashion Week, the socialite goes on a shopping spree at Celine and Isabel Marant.  Stylishly sporting a hat, blazer (topped with a leopard print coat), and aviator sunglasses, Nicole smiles her day away while updating her wardrobe!

And how does hubby Joel Madden feel about Nicole being on the other side of the world? Earlier today, he tweets, “My wife is at Fashion week in Paris. I am not. All is well in the world.”

Celebrity papa Joel Madden was spotted at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) today with kids Harlow Winter and Sparrow James. His Twin brother and Good Charlotte bandmate Benji was there as well, though there was no sight of wife Nicole Richie.

Harlow and Sparrow are adorable! I’m on a cuteness overload.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden spend quality time together over a sushi dinner at Matshuisa in Beverly Hills. The socialite and her Good Charlotte hubby even coordinate their outfits wearing all black and leather jackets!
