EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEEK! The Adventures of One eskimO‏

I saw Tori Amos in concert this summer, and she was fantastic! But I was absolutely blown away by the band that opened for her, One eskimO. I liked them so much, I could have listened to them for hours. I’m happy to show you this EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEEK to you – and to show you their new Visual Album!  One eskimO is awesome, please check them out! Below, you’ll find their first single off their new album, “Kandi”

One eskimO is a new UK band that is making their foray in the United States, and gaining significant popularity especially with their new twist on combining music with animation. Warner Bros. has partnered with the band to create a “visual album”, which will be available on iTunes and other digital outlets NOW.

The visual album is an innovative new musical experience for consumers that brings a musical album together with groundbreaking animation and story to offer music fans a fully immersive musical and visual storytelling experience.

Its produced by Passion Pictures, which is well known for their award-winning Gorillaz animation, “The Adventures of One eskimO”, is a 10 part short form animated series that takes viewers on a journey through an epic love story starring our hero One eskimO and his band of animal friends that include Monkey, Giraffe and Penguin.

One eskimO, the band, is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Kristian Leontiou, One eskimO arrives with an impressive breadth of imagination that instantly marks them as something extraordinary. Produced by Rollo Armstrong (Faithless, Dido), the music is an ambitious and affecting collection of widescreen modern pop, alive with iridescent textures and intricately crafted songs. Songs like “Hometime” and “Kandi” (featuring an indelible chorus sampled from Candi Staton’s classic “He Called Me Baby”) are moving and expressive, touching upon such universal themes as love and heartbreak, success and failure. One EskimO is Kristian Leontiou – vocals; Adam Falkner – drums; Jamie Sefton – bass & horns; Peter Rinaldi – guitar. The band’s debut album will premiere September 22 on Shangri-La Recordings and a U.S. tour will kick off September 15 at Joe’s Pub in New York.

In Case You Didn’t Know is looking for weekend interns!

super-inter.jpg

ICYDK is looking for a few weekend interns to cover celebrity news and gossip! I am getting to the point where this website is too big to handle by myself 7 days a week, and I’m looking for a few interns to cover the weekend gossip and news!

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be familiar with WordPress.
  • Must have previous blogging experience.
  • Basic Photoshop knowledge – how to resize pictures, etc.
  • Must love celebrities & gossip!

This is an un-paid internship.  However, there are perks… if you live in NYC or Los Angeles, there will be parties to attend – concerts to see – premieres to cover.  Plus, you will have great experience to put on a resume!

Send me an email including your qualifications – and why you’d like to blog for ICYDK!

My Review: The Proposal

90601a1_bullock_b-gr_281.jpg

I finally got out to see The Proposal last night, starring Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. I was really excited to see this, because I love me some Ryan Reynolds. (Is Just Friends not the best movie of all time?)

I wasn’t sure if Ryan & Sandra would be able to pull off the chemistry of a real couple, but  I was pleasantly surprised! There are so many laugh-out-loud moments, I felt like I was laughing throughout the entire movie.

Movie in a nutshell: Sandra Bullock  plays a book editor who is forced to marry her male assistant (Reynolds) in order to stay in the country. When they travel to Alaska to meet his family, the new couple has to fake their way through a surprise wedding thrown by his parents.

It was sooooo good, I just can’t even tell you! You guys owe it to yourselves to go see it!  I even think you could talk your man into seeing this one, it’s good for them too! It’s a bunch of fun, and a lot of laughs.  I give it 4 stars!

One of the coolest hangouts in Portland, will be in the new Harrison Ford movie!

alibi3.jpg

The Alibi in Portland, Oregon is approached all the time by small, independent, student films asking if they can film in and outside and the owners always say yes. They received a call a few months ago about a film and the owner said yes without asking any questions, assuming it was another small film project.

alibi6.jpg

Well The Alibi just found out a few weeks ago that it is Harrison Ford’s movie and it’s a huge production! Funny thing is that they wanted to hang a neon sign up adding to the current sign saying ‘Nude Dancers’ ‘Exotic Dancers’. Because of The Alibi’s very flamboyant sign people have assumed it is a strip club and the owners have tried to fight that reputation ever since they bought the place 20 years ago.

alibi2.jpg

The producers said that they loved The Alibi and that is had “the best neon in Portland” so they were going to make it work even though they couldn’t use it as a strip club and they understood where the owners were coming from. So I guess now it’s being used as a regular bar and it’s set in Nebraska, I think.

I’ve been to The Alibi several times, and I know the family who owns it. If you live in or near Portland, do yourself a favor and go check out this awesome Portland hangout.  It’s the greatest atmosphere, really relaxed, really fun.  The karaoke is probably the best in Portland, and the drinks are delicious! Head over to The Alibi, and told them ICYDK sent you!
