Well this is sad news for all Gossip Girl fans! Though the show has been renewed for a fifth season, stars Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szcohr will not be returning to the show.

The recent episodes, both Taylor and Jessica’s characters haven’t been prevalent, so it isn’t a big surprise that they’re leaving. Plus, Taylor’s dedication to her rock band, The Pretty Reckless, have been taking precedent over her other gigs lately.

PEOPLE reports that though they will not be permanent additions to the cast, both ladies characters may have guest appearances on the upcoming season.

According to TVLine, ‘Gossip Girl’ actresses Taylor Momsen (Jenny) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa) will not be returning for season five of the hit WB show.

A source close to the show confirms that the two actresses will not be returning as series regulars for the CW soap’s upcoming fifth season, but added that both have been invited back on a guest star basis.

The insider also confirms that GG‘s core five — Blake Lively (Serena), Leighton Meester (Blair) Penn Badgley (Dan), Ed Westwick (Chuck) and Chace Crawford (Nate) — will all be back in the fall. Additionally, Kaylee DeFer — who joined the cast this spring as Serena’s rabble-rousing cousin Charlie — has been promoted to series regular status.

The departures of Momsen and Szohr hardly come as a complete surprise. Momsen — who has made no secret of her desire to make music her primary focus — has appeared in only a handful of episodes this season. Similarly, Szohr’s alter ego has been given little to do save for a little eavesdropping and meddling here and there. What’s more, Vanessa recently revealed that she was leaving town to study abroad.

Jessica Szohr, who plays Vanessa on ‘Gossip Girl’, goes naked for a new ad campaign for SoBe Lifewater – posing provocatively in nothing but some strategically placed, painted-on scales.

The ads, which were just posted on Facebook, will first appear in magazines starting with February’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

“Last year’s SoBe Lifewater skinsuit shoot took place on a gorgeous beach; this year’s skinsuit shoot in the jungle was still amazing, but a little different. It definitely had an edgy vibe that I loved. No matter where you are, it’s easy to be tempted and transformed with new SoBe Lifewater with electrolytes,” Jessica said, sounding like a true spokeswoman.

Gossip Girl co-stars Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr have reportedly reunited on the set of the hit TV show.

The pair, who began dating in 2008, were believed to have gone their separate ways in April. Szohr was rumored to have moved on with Sebastian Stan, the ex-boyfriend of her colleague Leighton Meester.

The reports were vehemently denied by her representative, and it seems Szohr is now back in Westwick’s arms – the pair was seen flirting as they checked into a hotel in Chicago after filming together in July.

According to the New York Daily News, the pair hooked up later in the hotel’s bar, with an onlooker saying, “They were taking shots. They’re definitely a couple. They were kissing and holding hands.”
