Jessica Simpson feared she’d vomit at her country showcase

Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson was so nervous at a listening party for her new country music album, she warned guests she might vomit.

The singer performed all the tracks from new LP Do You Know for 200 record industry figures at Nashville, Tennessee’s Shermerhorn Symphony Center on Thursday.

After stepping onstage with a backing band comprising of three acoustic guitars, a bongo player and a fiddler, Simpson said, “Thank you so much for coming and for giving me a chance. I hope you get to experience what my heart’s been going through the last few years. I’m a little nervous. If I throw up, I’m sorry.”

When she made it through the gig, a relieved Simpson exclaimed, “I didn’t throw up!”

Simpson’s country debut Do You Know will hit stores in the U.S. next week.

Jessica Simpson’s baby plans

Jessica Simpson

Ashlee Simpson’s baby bump has her older sister, Jessica, wanting to follow in her footsteps.

Jessica Simpson, who is currently dating Dallas Cowboy Tony Romo, says she too has plans for a family of her own.

“I would love to be making records and making babies and hopefully I’m married in 10 years,” Fox News reports.

Jessica seems excited about the new addition to the Simpson clan saying, “I have the dreams of every normal person. I want to be a great aunt.”

Even after Jessica’s reality show and several celebrity boyfriends, she’s still not used to the tabloid treatment. “It’s a challenge for me to act like it’s just part of my career. If they knew your heart, they wouldn’t be talking about you like this.”

Jessica is set to release her debut country music album Do You Know this weekend.

Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo looking for a love nest?

jessica-simpson_tony-romo.jpg

In just a matter of months, Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo went from nearly breaking up to moving in together!

According to numerous reports, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, 28, has plunked down nearly $700,000 for a six-bedroom, four-bath mansion in Irving, Texas. Citing privacy laws, Tony’s realtor, Rogers Healy, wouldn’t confirm that Tony purchased the property, but he did say, “Tony’s looking for something that suits his preferences — nothing flashy, nothing crazy, a good investment and a moderate drive to the stadium.”

And Tony’s interior decorator? Jessica! “What she’s planning to do with the place is awesome,” says an insider close to Jess, 28. “It’s a little outdated, so the renovations are probably going to end up costing more than the house itself. And Tony totally trusts her.” The mansion in Irving is 5,551 square feet. “Tony likes to entertain, so a house with an open floor plan is ideal for him,” the football star’s realtor, Rogers Healy, says.

Jessica Simpson: ‘Why I almost quit singing’

Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson has returned to her Southern roots. If ya haven’t heard by now, the former pop-singing, reality-television star is about to release her first country album, Do You Know.

But it was less than two years ago that Simpson thought her music career was over. The 28-year-old Texan blond bombshell filled me in on exactly what happened as we sat down earlier today for a little chitchat about the new album at the Casa Del Mar hotel in Santa Monica.

Read on to find out why she almost called it quits, why we probably won’t see her acting again any time soon and why we shouldn’t be thinking about Tony, John or Nick when listening to the lyrics of her many new songs about livin’ and lovin’…

During the Kennedy Center Honors tribute to Dolly Parton, you messed up singing “9 to 5,” but now Dolly not only wrote the title track of your album, she sings on it, too. Did you ever think you’d go from the Kennedy Center drama to being friends with Dolly?
You know, what happened at Kennedy Center, I really thought I was done singin’. I was just at a place where I’d lost a lot of confidence and I didn’t even know who I was. But Dolly totally took me under her wing and helped me up and over the cares of the world.

It went from the Kennedy Center to her being a part of this record and getting letters from her of encouragement. She told me she’s never been more proud of anything in her whole life. And I have it written down in her handwriting! I do owe a lot of my confidence to her.

During your recent concerts, you’ve been thanking your fans for giving you a second chance. Did you ever think your real fans left you?
Um, no, but sometimes I feel like I close myself off so much to the fans. But at my shows, it’s not just fans. It’s people that are skeptics, critics. It’s, you know, all different kinds of people interested to see what I would actually be doing on stage, and if I could carry my own, and if I could stand up there as a woman with something to say. Be up there with a sense of purpose, you know. So I think more than anything, when I say, “Thank you for giving me a second chance,” I feel like I’m having a comeback. I’m on solid ground again. They can look to me for inspiration. I wanna be a role model.

I have to admit I’ve been analyzing some of the songs, trying to figure out which song is about whom. Are you worried that people are going to overdissect everything, like this song is about this boyfriend, and this song is about this time and the ex-husband?
People are gonna dissect it, but I hope they give the album a chance first. I hope they listen to it, and my biggest hope for this record is that people aren’t listening to it and thinking about me and somebody else. That they can actually listen to it and relate to it…I think that it’s important for people to give it a listen without thinking about any of my relationships.

So you’ve done a song with Dolly. You do Shania Twain and Dusty Springfield in your shows. But who else you lookin’ to sing with? How about someone like fellow Southerner Miley Cyrus?
Miley’s adorable. She looks up to my sister so much. She’s so cute, yeah. You know, when it comes to duets, I really can’t top Dolly Parton. That’s always been a dream of mine. So I really don’t know who I’d duet with.

How about acting—want to do more?
Hopefully there’s more acting to come. I’m not closing that chapter of my life by any means. But I am all about the music right now…When it comes to acting, it’s gotta feel right for me at this point in my life. It’s gotta just be a really incredible director and production with an awesome studio and great cast…But for me right now it’s just Jessica Simpson is music.

Jessica Simpson wanted to die after her divorce

Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson admits she “wanted to die” during her public divorce from ex-husband Nick Lachey.

“It’s one thing to have your marriage fail, but then there’s another thing to have the entire world watch your marriage fail. It’s like dealing with a death,” said Simpson in a revealing interview with People magaizine.

The blond singer is not keeping quiet her feelings for the new man in her life, Dallas Cowboys football star Tony Romo, calling him the “perfect guy.” She even wrote a song about him called “You’re My Sunday.” Touchdown!

Simpson also revealed that she has had some lovin’ that hasn’t been so public.

“I’ve had secret lovers. I can keep some things quiet,” she said.

And she hasn’t only moved on, she’s making sure the past stays there.

“I don’t want anybody that’s been in my life [before] in my life anymore,” she said. “I don’t even want them to have any way of contacting me.”

Jessica Simpson: Tony Romo is the new love of my life

Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson gets a cover story in the upcoming People dedicated to how in love the reinvented country star is at the moment. In fact, she’s so in love right now, she doesn’t journal in black notebooks anymore—she uses pink and white ones.

The interview was like any other chronicling her love life, because that’s all this girl seems to be about. Divorcing Nick Lachey was sad times, dating John Mayer was weird and Tony Romo is currently perfect.

About this perfect man, she has this to declare: “I just told him today, ‘You’re the love of my life.’ ” Oof, last time she said that about someone, it ended one of MTV’s greatest reality shows.

But hey, she goes on to say her e-mail address and phone number have been changed to avoid any contact with the dreaded exes, so maybe we should just forget about them, too.

See, we really just want Jess to be happy—because when she’s happy, we’re happy. When she’s sad, we journal in black notebooks along with her, and when she wears a corset under her cowboy shirt at state fairs, we definitely do that, too.

And best of luck to you, Tony! Now that she’s confessed in the article to picking out your clothes, you’re gonna need it.
