Jessica Alba has said that she will speak nothing but Spanish when her baby is born later this year, because she regretted not picking up the language of her grandparents when she was a child. She revealed that her father only spoke English to her and her brother because he wanted them to become model Americans.

It took her years to master basic Spanish because of this.

She says, “I wish to God that my dad spoke Spanish to my brother and me, but he didn’t grow up with it.”

Now, Alba is committed to mastering Spanish so she can speak the language to her baby. She adds, “Hopefully I can pick it up because I want my kids to speak Spanish. I don’t even want them to speak English for maybe the first two to three years, until pre-school. We’re in the United States so they’re going to learn it anyway.”

Alba admits her inability to speak Spanish when she first became a star didn’t go down well with fellow Latinos. She explains, “I got shunned (and) it made me feel really bad, like maybe I’m not (a Latino).”

Miley Cyrus is crushing the box office competition! She beat out Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria Parker at the box office.

Despite opening on just 683 screens, her concert flick Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour raked in $29 million, nabbing the No. 1 spot at the box office.

By comparison, Jessica Alba’s horror flick The Eye, which opened on four times as many screens, netted $13 million. Eva Longoria Parker’s comedy Over Her Dead Body opened on less than 2,000 theaters, earning a paltry $4.6 million.

“Miley is the hottest entertainer in America,” says Us movie critic, Thelma Adams. “She’s got music, movie and TV appeal — she’s a triple threat!”

Meanwhile, Longoria Parker “is still seen as a Desperate Housewife,” Adams says. “She cannot sell a movie, and doesn’t have a film career yet.”

And despite Alba’s recent misfires — her last bomb Good Luck Chuck only made about $35 million — Adams says, “I don’t think you can judge Jessica Alba by this. She’s very charming and appeals both to men and women. She just has to pick good projects.”

Jessica Alba has said that she hates weddings. The star, who is pregnant with her and Cash Warren’s first child, says that she plans to get married in a simple registry office service followed by a big party with her friends.

Jessica says, “Everyone I know hates weddings. I’ve been to very big, beautiful and romantic weddings, but I would rather just throw a big party. I am probably going to go to get my certificate at the City Council, throw a big party for the family and that’s about it.”

Jessica has also admitted she isn’t looking forward to the sleepless nights when her baby is born. I can’t say that I blame her, those are the toughest times. The trade-off is worth it, though. You would think she’d just hire a nanny, so that she can get her beauty sleep?

Eva Longoria has said that she thinks Jessica Alba is going to be an amazing mother, while she was at the premiere of her new movie, Over Her Dead Body.

The actress added: “She has to be one of the most compassionate, loving people you’ve ever met, and she is going to raise the most awesome human being in this world!”

Longoria also says that Cash Warren is a great match for Alba. “Cash has to be another amazing human being,” she said. “So the two together – it’s a no-brainer!”

It’s pretty clear Jessica Alba and Cash Warren are having a boy. The beauty bought baby furniture in a nautical theme in L.A.’s Petit Tresor, and grabbed a blue Huddy Buddy onesie reading “I’m a Boy” on the way out.
