Jenny McCarthy was so worried about her son, Evan, 3, when he got misdiagnosed with epilepsy and was given the wrong medication, that she decided to try the medication for herself. Jenny describes herself as having a “Ozzy Osbourne day” and a weird “mommy moment” at trying the medication. She was concerned with her son started acting negatively to the medication.

She recalls, “He went psychotic on them (medication)… He was hallucinating, he was banging his head against the wall, he didn’t recognize me, and that was really hard. The next medicine they gave me, I wanted to try. It’s not something I’d recommend to anyone but I wanted to know… how he felt, so I took his seizure meds.”

“No offense to Ozzy Osbournebut (I felt) exactly like Ozzy. I was slurring my speech, I was a little off balance and I was drooling a bit. I said to myself, ‘This will at least stop the seizures and mommy will find something better… I felt really scared because I didn’t know what was going on.”

My question is why wouldn’t you call your doctor and get your son off the meds instead of trying it yourself! That could be deadly to some people! A doctor in LA finally diagnosed Evan’s problem, autism.

I’ve seen Jenny wearing this ring for a while now, and this is the first close up I’ve been able to get.  Are they engaged?  It doesn’t really look like an engagement ring (maybe it’s a wedding ring?) - or maybe it’s a commitment ring.  I dunno.  Guess I’ll just hunt Jenny down and ask her.

I just got done (literally like 5 minutes ago) watching her on Oprah talking about her son.  Did anyone else catch it?  It sounds like her son is okay now.  I know nothing about autism - so don’t yell at me…but I didn’t know you could “recover” from autism.  I wonder how often that happens.

Off topic - Jenny was sporting some huge rocks! I wonder if she and Jim Carrey are engaged!?
