Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer lunched together at Michael’s restaurant in Miami, Florida Friday.

The actress and the singer then met up for dinner at Casa Tua on South Beach.

Their lunch “definitely seemed like a date,” a witness told Usmagazine.com.

“He had a sandwich,” the onlooker said. “She stole some bites and nibbled on a salad.”

Mayer, 30, was Us’ Cad of the Year. He broke up with Jessica Simpson last May and has also dated Cameron Diaz, Minka Kelly and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Jennifer Aniston’s big-budget summer movie He’s Just Not That Into You — her first release since the surprise hit The Break-Up two years ago — isn’t going to be on the big screen anytime soon.

Asked if it’s true that the release date of Jen’s film has been pushed back from Aug. 1 to Oct. 24, a New Line rep confirms to Life & Style, “That is the tentative new release date, though I don’t believe its 100 percent official yet. It’s definitely no longer August 1.”

According to an insider close to the actress, Jennifer’s romantic comedy has quietly been shifted because of mounting buzz for the Sex and the City film, expected to be a big draw among female audiences this summer.

The move underscores a professional rivalry between Jen and Sarah Jessica Parker. “Jen was looking forward to going up against the Sex ensemble — especially Sarah Jessica — and some of the other summer blockbusters,” says the insider. “They’ve never been friends in real life, and probably never will be.

“But Jen’s convinced her film has a superior story and more attractive cast. People are going to compare these movies and she doesn’t regret taking part in the project. This is the script that lured her back to work after taking two years off. She’s standing by her belief that it is a worthy picture.”

Jennifer Aniston is definitely a great catch — and it looks like New York Mets pitcher John Maine agrees. “I just love her soft and natural, girl-next-door looks and the way she carries herself, her whole demeanor,” the 6′4″ star athlete says, adding, “Oh, yes, the hair. The hair is unbelievable!”

And forget the 13-year age gap being a problem for John. He explains, “I think she just gets better looking as she gets older.”

But, if John, 26, ever meets the Marley & Me star, he may strike out. “I’d probably be so nervous, I would trip over my feet. I guess I would take some pictures with her and give her a hug.”

Even though Jen, 39, has never been linked to a professional athlete — and lives on the West Coast — she may be open to the idea. “I don’t really have a type,” the actress has said. “Men, in general, are a good thing.”

“Maybe she’ll contact me somehow and it will actually happen. Wow, how cool would that be?” John says.

Jennifer Aniston is moving forward with her wish to become a mother before Christmas. She recently spent a whopping $300,000 on a nursery for her home.

Sources close to Jennifer say that she has chosen a baby boy from an adoption agency based in Los Angeles.

The source said, “She’s now decided to find a baby in L.A. and she likes the name Alexander, which means ‘defender of men’ in Greek. It’s a family name, her younger half brother is called Alex.”

She reportedly installed the luxury nursery inside her $15 million mansion in Beverly Hills, which is said to include two children’s bedrooms, a nanny suite, and a playroom.

At a March 25 charity event at hot new L.A. eatery Beso (owned by Eva Longoria Parker), Jennifer Aniston and Orlando Bloom were two of several A-list stars who came out to support a good cause. But witnesses at the restaurant tell OK! the pair was adding more than their fair share of spice to the party!

“They were like heat-seeking missiles,” one eyewitness reveals to OK!. “They came together, threw their arms around each other and shared a big hug.” Adds another attendee at the event, “I saw them in a booth next to each other and Jen was looking at Orlando like he was her favorite person in the world. She looked like she wanted to grab him and make out with him!”

Also in attendance: Jen’s BFF Courteney Cox and her hubby, David Arquette, Jessica Simpson, Kate Beckinsale and Eva Longoria Parker. The gathering was all to help raise funds for the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation.

But this event isn’t the first time Jen, 39, has displayed what sources call a “serious crush” on the adorable Orlando. The pair have known each other since 2003, when the British hunk signed on to play Prince Paris opposite Brad Pitt’s Achilles in the epic big-screen dud Troy.
