Janet Jackson is preparing to make music producer Jermaine Dupri her third husband, according to reports.

Sources say that he has proposed to her and she has accepted, and the couple is secretly planning a wedding ceremony. Reportedly, she’s looking at dress designs and both parties are drawing a prenup.

This news comes just a week after she claimed that she may never walk down the aisle again, saying that she’s allergic to marriage.

Janet Jackson doesn’t blame the backlash from her wardrobe malfunction at the 2004 Superbowl for her bad album sales. She says simply, the CDs just weren’t that good.

Both Damita Jo and Janet were flops. Many people in the music business attributed her poor sales to her “wardrobe malfunction.”

“Ms. Jackson” disagrees. “I think it was the music,” she said when we talked about her upcoming album debut on Island DefJam, “Discipline.”

“The albums weren’t right,” she added.

The first track from “Discipline,” titled “Feedback,” was used as radio bait. The rest of “Discipline” — due on Feb. 26 — should undo the damage of her previous two outings, according to Jackson and her fiancé, Jermaine Dupri, who’s her main producer.

Janet Jackson is in no hurry to get married to her longterm boyfriend Jermaine Dupri, because she thinks she is “allergic to marriage.” She says that she has been put off on the idea after two failed marriages, her first marriage to James DeBarge that fell apart after only one year, and her second, to Rene Elizondo, which ended in 1999 after 13 years together.

She insists that she isn’t ruling out the prospect of marrying Jermaine completely, saying “If it’s meant to happen, it’ll happen. I like where we are, and I’m happy where I am. I’ve done it twice before. I’m afraid I might be a jinx. I might be allergic to marriage.”

The couple have been dating since 2002.

After two failed marriages, I can’t say that I blame her for wanting to take it slow. If he’s the right guy for her, then he’ll understand.

Pop diva Janet Jackson has said that she was so miserable during her year-long stint on television sitcome Fame, she contemplated quitting the entertainment industry altogether.

She was urged by her father Joe to accept the role of Cleo Hewitt in the series about performing arts students, but she struggled to fit in with the rest of the tight-knit cast and became a target for bullies.

She recalls, “I didn’t want to do that to begin with. I did it for my father. The kids that were on it… they were so outgoing, I felt like an outcast. “They would do things like eat my breakfast. I’d open up my breakfast case and there’d be nothing in there. I was the new kid on the block. I was very shy and very quiet so I would never say anything, I’d just close it back up.”

Look at where they are now, right? She’s famous and the rest of them are lucky if they are even considered has-beens.

In an exclusive interview with Parade, Janet Jackson admits that she hasn’t always been so lucky in love.

“After two divorces [to singer James Debarge and dancer Rene Elizondo Jr.], I thought I was jinxed,” Janet explains in the new issue of Parade, out this Sunday. “Maybe marriage isn’t for me? Maybe it’s my fault it never works. I was always faithful. I always tried to give of myself. But maybe I’m the problem.” She continues, “When it was over, I put shields up to protect myself from being hurt again. I didn’t want to go there anymore.”

The twice-married singer says she was initially cautious about entering into a relationship with boyfriend Jermaine Dupri. “I was always reaching out for love…this time, I wasn’t going to be the first to reach out,” she says. “It was Jermaine who touched me first. Love came to me. He’s such a wonderful, sweet, very loving guy that I said to myself, ‘I’m not going to fall head over heels for this person.’”
