Jane Lynch divorcing her wife of three years.

‘Glee’ actress Jane Lynch and her wife, Dr. Lara Embry, are getting a divorce.

According to PEOPLE, Jane has released a statement. “Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter.”

Lynch, 52, and Embry, 44, met at a 2009 fundraiser in San Francisco at which Embry was being honored. Shortly after confirming their engagement, the women married on Memorial Day in 2010 in an intimate ceremony in Sunderland, Mass., one of the few states where gay marriage is recognized.

The wedding was attended by 19 friends and family including Embry’s daughter, Haden, with whom Lynch has gotten very close.

“My greatest pleasure is Haden, my stepdaughter,” Lynch told PEOPLE at The Moms Mamarazzi event in New York City last March. “I am surprised how much love you feel and how you would do anything for your children.”

Lynch, who is currently starring as Miss Hannigan in Annie: The Musical, performed at the Tony Awards in New York City Sunday.

That’s too bad!

‘Glee’ cast shined on the red carpet – but left completely empty handed at the SAG Awards!

Despite being winners on the red carpet, the entire Glee cast went home empty handed after losing out in all three categories they were nominated for.

After sweeping the board a few weeks ago at the Golden Globes, where Glee took home Best Television Series, the show didn’t manage to scoop any awards.

Jane Lynch also lost out on the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series to Betty White in Hot In Cleveland.

The entire cast also missed out on the gong for Best Ensemble for comedy, which went to Modern Family.

But the stars were gracious in defeat, tweeting their congratulations to their rivals after the show.

Amber Riley wrote: ‘Congratulations Modern Family! You totally deserve it!!!!’

She added: ‘Thank u guys for all the love, seriously means the world to us Gleeks! Gnite.’

While Lea Michele tweeted: ‘Lea What a great night! So happy for Modern Family and the other winners tonight! Such a fun night!’

Ed O’Neill denies saying Jane Lynch didn’t deserve her Emmy!

In a statement released exclusively to EW, Modern Family star Ed O’Neill denies that he said that Glee actress Jane Lynch did not deserve the Emmy for her role as Sue Sylvester. O’Neill was quoted in a TV Guide Canada story as saying, “I love Jane, honestly I do. I’m dying to star in one of Christopher Guest’s movies alongside her, but I don’t think she should have gotten the Emmy for that part. [Sue Sylvester] is just a one-note character.” He then is quoted singing the praises of his onscreen wife, played by Sofia Vergara.

O’Neill’s statement reads in full: “Last week I spoke to a group of journalists and one quoted me supposedly saying of Jane Lynch, ‘I don’t think she should have gotten the Emmy for that part.’ I never said those words and transcripts of the press conference attest to that fact. Of course I root for my dear friends Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen (and all of my colleagues on our show) at Emmy time, but I absolutely never said, nor do I believe that Jane — whom I think is an enormous talent — was undeserving of the award. I reached out to her yesterday to ensure she knew I’d been misquoted but I wanted to clear this up publicly as well.” (A rep for Lynch told E! Online the actress had “let [the issue] go.”)
