In Touch can exclusively reveal that their mom, screenwriter Naomi Foner Gyllenhaal, and dad, director Stephen Gyllenhaal, have separated. “Nobody saw this coming,” says one insider, and another tells In Touch, “The family is completely distraught, but they are all uniting during this sad time.” The situation has apparently made Jake appreciate girlfriend Reese Witherspoon that much more. “He and Reese have been talking about marriage a lot lately,” the insider says. “Stephen has moved out,” says an insider about the breakup of the tight-knit clan.

Putting the more in Morocco, Jake Gyllenhaal gets all bulked up and “bear” chested for his role in the fantasy flick Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Maybe the fantasy appeals to his girlfriend as well, since Reese Witherspoon flew to North Africa to spend some quality time with Jake’s pec-a-dillies.

Reps for Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are denying tabloid reports that the couple are engaged.

“They are not engaged, getting married or any of the reports,” the reps tell People exclusively, calling the reports “lies.”

Witherspoon, 32 and Gyllenhaal, 27, began quietly dating in April 2007. They recently were seen together in Paris with Witherspoon’s kids.

You know there’s something really special about a relationship when you feel ready to draw your family together with you partner’s.

And it sounds like Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon are starting to take that landmark step.

We’re told Reese’s son, Deacon, now has his own collection of The Dark Knight memorabilia, thanks to Maggie Gyllenhaal, the sister of his mom’s beau.

As one of the stars of the record-breaking movie, Maggie, brought Deacon, 4, a collection of action figures from the movie and a copy of the script.

“He’s quite the Batman fan,” a pal of the family tells OK!. “Deacon has been waiting for The Dark Knight to come out, although Reese was worried that it was too dark for him to watch at his age.”

Maggie’s gifts are just the latest sign of how close Reese, 32, and Jake, 27, have become.

During a recent romantic dinner at Allard’s in Paris, “They looked very much in love and were happy and smiling the whole time,” a staffer tells OK!.

Meanwhile, “Reese speaks great French — I was so impressed,” admits a waitress who served the lovebirds and Reese’s too children at Chez Janou restraunt. “They seemed to be one big happy family!”
