Jake Gyllenhaal has revealed that he used to enjoy casual sex in his younger years.

However, the 30-year-old actor insisted that he has more important endeavours, seemingly referring to his girlfriend, country singer Taylor Swift.

He told PA: “I think casual sex some people are into, I definitely have been in my life at times. I think you find other things more important as time goes on.”

Promoting new movie Love And Other Drugs, in which he stars alongside Anne Hathaway, Gyllenhaal added: “I feel people might be tired of the normal clichéd typical movie and so we put our minds together and I think we raised the stakes.

“We decided it was going to be two characters that both really couldn’t be intimate and so we both went to sex as a way of avoiding things. The movie does start off with the two of them sort of primal and animalistically having sex.”

Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift have been in the news quite a bit with their new relationship. Now, Jake is saying that he’s taking his time.

Jake was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in Love And Other Drugs and was asked who he would be bringing to the awards ceremony. Laughing, Jake said, “Dude, I didn’t think I was getting nominated. It’s going to be a long, slow burn for me. I’m not rushing into anything!”

The star admitted he was “asleep” and “didn’t wake up” when nominations were announced at 5:30 a.m. L.A. time.

“It was pretty unexpected. I got a call and then I checked my phone and I had 25 e-mails, and it was either disconcerting or exciting. In this case it was exciting,” Gyllenhaal said.

How psyched is he? “I’m going to really soak this in. I’ll be with my family and I’m excited for the holidays. I’m not going to deny any awesome feelings.”

While visiting DListed for the tenth time this morning I stumbled upon this photoshopped cover of EW, and I cannot stop laughing! Someone replaced Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway’s faces on the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly, and it’s so good it’s creepy.

The new Us Weekly has the first photos of Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal’s romantic Thanksgiving Day weekend.

Arm in arm, the two looked more smitten than ever as they took an afternoon stroll in Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood, where the actor’s sister, Maggie, lives.

Dating for just five weeks, the romance is heating up, several insiders tell Us Weekly.

“She loves his family and he loves hers,” says a Swift source.

Adds another pal, “It’s definitely serious.”

I was out with my girlfriends last night, and we were talking about this whole Jake/Taylor thing. For whatever reason, I’m just not feeling it. How do you go from Reese Witherspoon to Taylor Swift? She seems so young to me! Maybe it was her very brief relationship with Taylor Lautner that left me with the wrong impression of her. She just seems very immature to me. I thought Jake was more mature than that. He’s had some serious – long relationships. Taylor just seems so young for him! What do you guys think?

Here’s the trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal’s new movie, ‘Source Code’. I don’t think it looks terribly interesting (or original), but I could be wrong. Looks like Groundhog Day meets Inception.

After being spotted getting cozy at a coffee shop in Tennessee this weekend, rumored couple Jake Gyllenhaal, 29, and Taylor Swift, 20, enjoyed another intimate cup of joe at the Frothy Monkey in Nashville this morning.

Sources tell TMZ the duo have been in the past several mornings and “looked like they were more than friends” … whatever that means.

Jake Gyllenhaal, 29, plays Jamie Randall, a cocky pharmaceutical salesman who falls for an emotionally guarded young Parkinson’s patient named Maggie Murdock (Anne Hathaway). In the R-rated film out Nov. 24, the duo, who played husband and wife in 2005’s Brokeback Mountain, share several intense sex scenes and bravely reveal nearly every inch of their enviably toned bodies.

Though they’re not a couple in real life, they’re one of the more convincing young screen pairings to come along in a while. And it helps that they were guided by Zwick, 58, who directed one of the most frank romances of the ’80s, About Last Night… Here the three talk to EW about the sexy movies they watched before shooting, how they choreographed the film’s most physical scenes, and why they’re always texting each other now.

Entertainment Weekly: When you first read this script, were you at all scared to take it on?

Jake Gyllenhaal: I immediately fell in love from the first 10 pages, and by the end I was weeping. It felt like this weird sense of fate. I went to Ed and basically begged him. I was like, “This part was written for me.”

Edward Zwick: When we met, I saw things in Jake that I had not seen on screen. And that’s what you want. Then somebody said, “Did you ever see Jake host Saturday Night Live? You should look at it.” And I did. [To Gyllenhaal] I’m not saying you got this part necessarily because you were in drag.

Anne Hathaway: But it didn’t hurt!
