Comedian Jack Black has finally quit smoking – crediting his busy family life with helping him to kick the habit.

The King Kong star and his wife Tanya recently celebrated the birth of their second son Thomas Black, and he admits he is so comfortable living a quiet family life, he has left his wild ways – and his nicotine addiction – well and truly behind him.

He tells Britain’s Closer magazine, “That’s all come to a halt, with marriage and fatherhood. I don’t have the energy! So if people stop me and say, ‘Let’s party, dude, I’ve got beer’, I never know how to reply! I’ve started going to bed at a reasonable hour. And, after more than 10 years of promising I would quit smoking, I’ve finally done so.”

Jack Black tricked the media into believing he had named his new baby son Jack.

After the star confirmed at the Cannes Film Festival in France that his wife Tanya had given birth to their second child “weeks ago”, Black revealed the tot was named after him.

But the Kung-Fu Panda star forgot to reveal his real name is Thomas Jack Black – and the newborn baby is also called Thomas.

He explains the confusion, “I said I named the baby after me. I didn’t say that my actual name is Thomas.”

Black recently explained how the baby – a brother to Samuel, who is two this month – was born without anyone realizing: “Nobody cares about my babies. It’s all about Angelina’s babies.”

Angelina Jolie has forgiven Jack Black for telling the world about her pregnancy.

The star, 32, confirmed she is expecting twins during an interview at the Cannes Film Festival last month, after her Kung Fu Panda co-star accidentally let slip the news to a TV reporter.

But Black insists Jolie was relieved the news was made public.

He says, “Later she told me she was relieved because she and Brad (Pitt) didn’t want to hold in the secret.”

And Black insists Jolie never told him she was expecting: “I think my wife told me… She’d just read it in some rag. Then I thought that was common knowledge.”

Jack Black has become a father for the second time.

The King Kong star and wife Tanya Haden welcomed their second child “weeks ago”, reports Entertainment Tonight.

Black – who let slip to reporters about Angelina Jolie’s pregnancy – confirmed the news at an event to promote his new movie Kung Fu Panda in Los Angeles on Saturday.

He told reporters, “I have a new one. It’s eating every three hours. You just got to make all the time precious with the babies when you’re working …You get an hour in the morning, and an hour at night, and you really make the most of that time.”

The baby’s name and sex is unknown.

Black and Haden married in 2006. They have a son, Samuel, who turns two this month.
